Carroll, East Sac and Kuemper At South Central Calhoun Tournament
Kuemper earned the tournament title, going 6-0 in matches and 12-1 in sets, dropping their only set to East Sac. The Knights took the opening set against the Raiders 21-17, then dropped the 2nd set 21-13 before jumping out quick in the 3rd set, winning 15-5. They lead 5-0 right away, getting the Raiders out of system and taking away their aggressiveness. South Central Calhoun, played the entire day without the All-Conference and All-Rewind setter Norah Riedesel, changing their lineup with Jayci Graeve sliding into the setting role. They played well, finishing in 2nd place, going 4-2 in matches and 9-7 in sets. The Titans dropped their opening match to East Sac 2-1, after winning the 1st set 21-18, they dropped the next two sets 21-19 and 20-18 in a thrilling match to open the tournament. South Central Calhoun’s only other lost was to Kuemper, as the Knights won 21-13, 21-7. South Central Calhoun swept Kingsley Pierson while beating Carroll, Winterset and Ridge View all 2-1. They rallied to beat Carroll after losing the 1st set and beat Winterset in a thrilling 20-18 in set three. Carroll and East Sac both went 3-3 with the Tigers going 8-6 in sets and Est Sac 7-9. The Tigers beat Kingsley Pierson, Ridge View and East Sac, topping the Raiders in 21-12 and 22-20. The Raiders knocked off South Central Calhoun, Ridge View and Kingsley Pierson, winning all three matches in three sets, including topping South Central Calhoun 20-18 and Ridge View 15-13 in final set thrillers. Winterset finished 3rd, going 4-2 in matches and 9-5 in sets with Ridge View taking 6th at 1-5 in matches and 4-11 in sets and Kingsley Pierson finishing 7th, going 0-6 in matches and 2-12 in sets.
Brianna Wittrock had another big day for Kuemper with 47 kills, 18 blocks, 17 digs and 11 aces. Kaylie Simons controlled the back row in dominant style with 54 digs and 3 aces. Elsa Tiefenthaler had a team high 60 assists along with 36 digs and a team high 14 aces. Karsyn Overmohle added 39 assists, 16 digs and 13 aces. Brooke Rohe added 14 digs, Alivia Schenkelberg had 15 blocks along with 14 kills. Mariah Heuton finished with 29 kills and Kolbi Peter had 21 kills.
Brenna McAlister led the Titans in kills with 41 with Nicole Meyer adding 33 kills, Sadie Wheelock 17 kills and Jayci Graeve with 16 kills. Graeve added 73 assists, 35 digs and 6 aces. McAlister had 38 digs and 7 aces while Nicole Meyer added 31 digs, 4 blocks and 7 aces. Sadie Wheelock added 17 kills and a team high 9 blocks and Alexa Holm added 45 digs while Macie Dorman finished with 24 digs.
Olivia Rowedder paced the Tigers with 50 kills along with 35 digs and 5 blocks. Katelyn Aden added 32 kills, 43 digs and 3 aces while Analia Ayala had 22 kills. Emily Puck finished with 105 assists along with 27 digs and 6 aces. Marasyn Wittrock had 40 digs, Aubrie Drake 25 digs and Vana Woodward added 4 blocks.
Addisen Ehler continues to pace East Sac with 54 kills, 43 digs, 8 blocks and 4 aces. Katelyn Schmitt had 25 kills, 41 digs, Kendall Quirk added 10 kills, 12 digs and 8 blocks. Jordin Carroll finished with 81 assists, 29 digs and 4 aces. Sarah Bontrager had 29 digs, and Ella Wilson led them in the back row with 57 digs. Emerson Ludwig added 7 blocks and Makenna Steiger finished with 3 aces.
