The young South Central Calhoun Titans move to 2-0 on the season as they pick up a big win over Southwest Valley in week two of the high school football season. SCC led the whole game as they were able to score late in the first quarter to take an early 7-0 lead. The Titans were more balanced on offense this week passing it 32 times while rushing the football 49. The SCC lead would grow at the half to 14-0. South Central Calhoun’s defense would continue to shine as the shutout would remain intact going to the fourth quarter. SCC was able to score their third touchdown of the game to take a 21-0 lead to the fourth. In the fourth quarter, SCC put the game out of reach as they scored 22 points and went on to win 43-6.
As a team, SCC had six offensive touchdowns and combined for 573 yards of total offense. Andrew Anderson continues to play good at quarterback for the Titans. Anderson went 20-32 with 237 yards and two touchdowns through the air. Cole Higgins was the Titans leading rusher with 87 yards and two touchdowns. Mike Trott and Caleb Juhl also had rushing touchdowns for SCC in the win. Charlie Nattress was big in the receiving game, as he caught five passes for 77 yards and a touchdown. Garrett Krause also pulled in five catches for 75 yards and a touchdown. Cole Higgins recorded ten tackles on defense, which was first on the team. Eight of those tackles were solo. With the win, SCC improved to 2-0. The Titans are back in action on Friday against Riverside.
