Coon Rapids Bayard nearly recovered from a tough 2nd quarter, pulling within 59-46 in the 4th quarter but were unable to complete the comeback in a 66-46 loss to the 6th ranked Warriors. The Crusaders came out aggressive, nearly taking the opening kick for a touchdown. They scored on their first-two possessions, building a 12-0 lead and were up 18-13 at the end of the 1st quarter. WACO took charge as the Crusaders small numbers caused them to wear down in the 2nd quarter and WACO outscored them 18-0 in the 2nd quarter and led 31-18 at half. The Warriors scored on the opening drive of the 3rd quarter, pushing the lead to 38-18 before stretching the lead to 45-18. Both teams scored regularly the rest of the game with Coon Rapids Bayard using a stop in the 4th quarter and a quick touchdown to pull within 59-46. WACO put the game out of reach with a 51-yard touchdown pass with 2:48 remaining.

Caden Oswald took the opening kick deep into Warriors territory, leading to a 1-yard touchdown run by Wyatt Oswald as Coon Rapids Bayard led 6-0. A defensive stop got the Crusaders the ball back and the offense moved down the field, getting a pass to the 2-yard line. Wyatt Oswald scored his second touchdown from a yard out and the Crusaders were up 12-0 with 7:21 left in the 1st quarter. WACO answered quickly with a touchdown pass, cutting the lead to 12-7. A Crusader turnover led the a Warriors 14-yard touchdown pass, putting the Warriors up 13-12. Coon Rapids Bayard answered with Wyatt Oswald scoring his third rushing touchdown of the 1st quarter, scoring from 2-yards out with 0:10 left and Coon Rapids Bayard led 18-13 at the end of the quarter. WACO responded quickly in the 2nd quarter, scoring their second touchdown pass of the game, setting the tempo for the rest of the half. They hit Isaac Rich for five touchdown passes in the game. He caught a 5-yard touchdown to put the Warriors up 19-18 with 10:51 left in the half. Coon Rapids Bayard turned it over on downs and Rich scored from 30-yards on a 4th down play, stretching the lead to 25-18. They lead was pushed to 31-18 with 2:13 left in the half as Rich caught his third touchdown pass of the quarter.

The Warriors leaned on the passing game in the 1st half to get back in the game and take the lead. They leaned on the ground game most of the 2nd half. Louden Huisenga was a workhorse to start the 3rd quarter and scored on a 4-yard run with 10:12 left in the quarter, pushing the lead to 38-18. After a defensive stop, Huisenga scored on a 68-yard pass, stretching the lead to 45-18. Coon Rapids Bayard needed to answer and did. Caden Oswald broke loss for a 30-yard touchdown, pulling them within 45-24 with 1:58 left in the 3rd quarter. Hayden Shelman answered for WACO on the ensuing kickoff, outracing the Crusaders down the sideline for 55-yards, pushing the lead back to 52-24. Coon Rapids Bayard responded quickly again. Wyatt Oswald found Gavin Heiderscheit for a 28-yard touchdown and Coon Rapids Bayard trailed 52-32 entering the 4th quarter. After another Huisenga touchdown Ethan Bauer darted 26-yards for a touchdown and the Crusaders would make a stop. Caden Oswald pulled the Crusaders within 59-46 with a 42-yard touchdown run. Coon Rapids Bayard needed a stop with 3:56 remaining, down 13 but the Warriors struck with a 51-yard touchdown pass to Isaac Rich, putting the game out of reach with 2:48 remaining.

Caden Oswald carried it 15 times for 148-yards and a pair of touchdowns with Ethan Bauer adding 75-yards on 9 carries. Wyatt Oswald added 3 rushing touchdowns. Gavin Heiderscheit caught 6 passes for 97-yards and a touchdown. Caden Oswald led the team with 10 tackles and Ethan Bauer and Max Shirbroun both had 7 tackles.

The Crusaders are 0-1 and will host Baxter on Friday.
