Chillicothe had 8-hits and scored 8-runs in the bottom 1st, digging the Merchants a hole they weren’t able to dig out of. Carroll finished with 6-hits, scoring a pair of runs in the 3rd inning. Logan Harris reached on an error, scoring Justin Ricketts, who had walked to start the inning. Dylan Shepherd followed it up with a single to centerfield, scoring Cullen McBride, who had singled. The Merchants had other chances to score, leaving 2-runners on base in the 4th, 7th and 9th innings and the bases loaded in the 6th.
Justin Ricketts had a base hit and scored a run, Cullen McBride singled and scored while Logan Harris and Dylan Shepherd both singled, driving in a run.
The Merchants dropped their third game in a row, falling to 12-19 overall and 12-18 in the MINK. They head to Warren County on Tuesday.
