Carroll rallied with a run in the bottom of the 8th, tying the game at 1. Logan Harris singled and scored an error off a ball hit to 2nd base by Noah Dutler. They left a runner on base, setting up a rally by St Joseph in the top of the 9th. The Mustangs scored 2-runs on three hits in the inning. Carroll tried to rally in the bottom 9th getting Xavier Lerma on base with a single and Justin Ricketts singling with 2-outs. They weren’t able to score and fell 3-1.
Justin Ricketts led the Merchants with 3 hits with Logan Harris and Xavier Lerma both having 2 hits. Logan Harris scored a run. Caleb Tucker had a strong start on the hill, going 6 innings, allowing 8 hits and 1 earned run with 4 strikeouts.
The loss drops the Merchants to 12-18 overall and 12-17 in the MINK League. They travel to Chillicothe on Monday.
