Kuemper rallied, using a 7-run 4th inning to take control in a game they trailed 4-1 through 3 1/2 innings. The Knights scored in the 1st inning with Carter Putney walking, Benicio Lujano singling, driving in Putney. They loaded the bases in the 2nd inning with 2-outs but didn’t score. Atlantic used their own 2-out rally in the 2nd inning to take the lead. A pair of Kuemper errors helped the Trojans score 3-runs. Kuemper looked like they would respond in the 3rd but stranded 2-runners on base. The Knights trailed 3-1 after three innings, having stranded eight guys on base. The Trojans added to their lead in the 4th, scoring their only earned run in the game. The game flipped in the bottom 4th with Kuemper sending twelve batters to the plate. Carter Putney was hit-by-pitch to start the rally with the first-five guys in the lineup scoring. Evan Loew, Tristan Janson and Josh Langel all had an RBI with Mason Knerl driving in a pair of runs. Kuemper jumped to a 8-4 lead and never looked back. A 6-4-3 double play to end the 5th inning took away any momentum Atlantic tried to wrestle back. They stranded runners on 2nd and 3rd. The Knights salted the game away in the 5th, scoring on a passed ball and a wild pitch. The lead grew to 10-4. Charles Mayhall ended any threats in the 6th, throwing out a runner at 2nd to strand a runner at 3rd. Benicio Lujano doubled to score  Carter Putney and then scored on a single by Ethan Loew as Kuemper pushed the lead to 12-4. Atlantic loaded the bases in the 7th but Ryan Sundrup induced a fly ball to centerfield to end the game.

Benicio Lujano went 5-5 with a double and 2 RBI, Carter Putney scored 3-runs, Ethan Loew had a pair of hits and an RBI and Evan Loew had 3 hits with an RBI and 2-runs scored. Tristan Janson earned the win, going 5 innings, allowing 4 hits and 1 earned run with 4 strikeouts.

Both teams played well with Josh Langel ending the game on a hard hit ball down the 1st base line that he caught and stepped on the bag to end the game with a l-3-3U doubleheader. If the ball got down the line into the corner, Carroll could have tied the game or had the tying run at 3rd with the lead run at 2nd. The senior celebrated with his teammates after making a huge play. Carroll had a chance to tie the game in the 6th with Chase Ragaller reaching on an error and moving to 3rd base with 2-outs. The Tigers stranded him there and were able to get a runner past 1st base in the 7th.

The Knights scored early, taking a 2-0 lead in the 1st inning. Carter Putney walked and scored on a base hit by Evan Loew and Benicio Lujano singled and scored on a passed ball. The lead grew to 3-0 in the 3rd with Tristan Janson driving in Ethan Loew. The Tigers had one base runner and no hits against Mason Knerl through three innings and saw the first-two hitters get out to start the 4th. Ryan North singled to left field, starting a 2-out rally. Chase Ragaller singled to shallow right field, scoring North from 1st base. Carter Essick reached on an error. After Stone Sibenaller singled to load the bases for Landon Petersen. He hit the ball to left and Kuemper tried to make sliding catch, missing the ball. Carroll scored 3-runs on the play with Petersen getting a double. The 4-run 4th inning gave Carroll their first lead. It didn’t last long as Kuemper answered with 2-runs in the bottom 4th. Mason Knerl walked and Carter Putney singled. The Knights took a 5-4 lead, holding on for the win. Carroll went in order in the 5th and had the minimum three batters in the 9th. Jackson Gross hit the ball hard down the line but Josh Langel snared it and stepped on 1st to end the game.

The Knights had four hits with Curter Putney, Benicio Lujano, Ethan Loew and Evan Loew all having a single. Lujano, Evan Loew and Tristan Janson all had an RBI with Carter Putney scoring twice. Mason Knerl earned the win, going 7 innings, allowing 4 hits and 1 earned run with 4 strikeouts.

Carroll finished with four hits with Landon Petersen doubling with 3 RBI. Ryan North, Chase Ragaller and Stone Sibenaller all singled. North, Ragaller and Chase Schable all scored. Stone Sibenaller pitched 6 innings, allowing4 hits and 4 earned runs. He struck out 5.

Kuemper improved to 14-16 overall and hosts Tri Center on Monday. Carroll falls to 7-15 and will  head to Winterset on Monday.

Ar-We-Va snapped a 28-game losing streak on Friday, playing their most complete game of the season. Glidden Ralston took a 2-1 in the 3rd inning when Mark Lensch doubled, driving in a run and Daniel Thooft drove in a run. Ar-We-Va fought back in the 5th, taking the lead for good. Wyatt Ragaller hit a sac fly, scoring a run, Blayne Smith singled, scoring Weston Toft and Johnathan Riesselman drove in Grant Wilken. Wyatt Ragaller was strong on the hill, going 7 innings, allowing 2 earned runs. He shut the door on the Wildcats the final three innings. Ar-We-Va defense played well with 1 error while Glidden Ralston had 3 errors, allowing 3 unearned runs.

Wyatt Ragaller earned the win, allowing 5 hits  and 2 earned runs with 8 strikeouts. Derek Thomsen, Wade Ragaller and Johnathan Riesselman all had 2 hits for the Rockets. Riesselman had an RBI with Thomsen and Ragaller scoring a run. Weston Toft added a base hit and scored and Blayne Smith had a hit and drove in a run.

Mark Lensch had a pair of hits for Glidden Ralston, doubling, driving in a run and scoring a run. Jonathan Bergmeier, Daniel Thooft and Blayce Nelson all had a base hit with Bergmeier scoring a run and Thooft had an RBI. Carson Peters went 7 innings, allowing 9 hits and 1 earned run.

Ar-We-Va improves to 1-12 and will travel to Riverside on Monday. Glidden Ralston falls to 3-14 and will travel to Greene County on Monday.

Coon Rapids Bayard claimed the Rolling Valley Conference title outright with a 2-0 win on the road at Woodbine, sweeping the season series. Kolby Culbertson and Cal Heydon combined to shut out the Tigers, holding them to 1-hit while striking out 13. Tyler Mohr gave Coon Rapids Bayard the lead with an RBI single in the 3rd inning, driving in Cal Heydon. Cade Behrens made it a 2-0 lead in the 5th inning, driving in Cal Heydon. Coon Rapids Bayard came up big several times on the hill and defensively. Woodbine had a runner at 3rd base with 1-out in the 1st inning and Kolby Culbertson struck out the next two batters. In the 3rd inning the Tigers had a runner at 2nd base with no outs and Coon Rapids Bayard stranded him on base, making three straight outs. Woodbine had runners at 1st and 2nd in the 4th inning with 2-outs and Cal Heydon struck out the next batter to end the inning. The Tigers loaded the bases in the 5th with 2-outs and Heydon struck out the next batter and in the 6th inning, Woodbine had a runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1-out and Cal Heydon struck out the next two batters.

Tyler Mohr and Cal Heydon both had a pair of singles. Mohr added and RBI. Jace Baker had a base hit and Cade Behrens added an RBI single. Cal Heydon earned the win, going 3 1/3 innings, allowing 1 hit with 8 strikeouts. Kolby Culbertson went 3 2/3 innings with 5 strikeouts.

The win improves Coon Rapids Bayard to 17-10-1 overall and 12-0 in the Rolling Valley Conference.  The Crusaders host both Bishop Garrigan and IKM-Manning on Monday. They play Garrigan at 5:30 and IKM-Manning on 7:30.
