Cullen McBride had a strong day on the hill and Lake Hagen finished things strong with a pair of strikeouts, helping the Merchants earn a 2-1 win. McBride went 5 2/3 innings, allowing 4 hits and surrendering 1 earned run. His 8 strikeouts kept the pressure off the defense most of the game. Hagen came in the bottom of the 6th and got them out of a bases loaded jam. The Merchants grabbed the lead in the top of the 6th. Jake McClure starting the inning with a walk, he moved to 2nd base on a single by Logan Harris. They both advanced a base on a sac bunt by Sammy Harris. Aiden Cizek came up with 2-outs and ripped a double to score McClure and Logan Harris.
Aiden Cizek led the Merchants offense with a double and 2 RBI. Logan Harris and Jake McClure both scored a run. Justin Ricketts and Nolan Oliver added a single each.

The Merchants two game winning streak came to an end in the second game of the doubleheader. The offense struggled, finishing with 5 hits. They were still in the game until late, allowing 6-runs in the bottom of the 5th inning. Jefferson City used 5 hits and a Merchant error. They finished with 11 hits.
Bryce Hoskinson singled in the 2nd inning, scoring Sammy Harris had singled earlier in the single, tying the game at 1. Jefferson City took the lead back in the bottom half, going up 2-1. Carroll bounced back in the 3rd with Jake McClure and Logan Harris stealing home. The Renegades responded with a 3-run bottom of the 3rd. Carroll threatened in the 4th, leaving 2 on base. They stranded a runner in the 5th as well.
Jake McClure had a pair of hits and scored once, Bryce Hoskinson drove in a run with a single. Sammy Harris singled and scored and Aiden Cizek scored a run.
The split moved the Merchants to 9-15 overall and 9-14 in the MINK League. They host Chillicothe on Sunday 0n the CB Sports Network YouTube channel.
