The Carroll Tigers fell at home to Carlisle, seeing one of the Wildcat’s better pitchers in the loss. Neither team scored in the first inning. Carlisle would take the lead in the top of the second, plating four runs to take an early 4-0 lead. Three more runs came across in the third inning as the lead for Carlisle would grow to 7-0. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Carroll would get on the board when Tate Schleisman scored on an error. The Tigers would go on to lose 7-1. The Tigers only managed four hits in the game. Stone Sibenaller recorded a multi-hit game, going 2-3. Jackson Gross and Ryan North picked up the other hits for the Tigers. Trey Tassell took the loss on the hill, pitching two-plus innings and giving up four earned runs on four hits. Tallon Crandall came on in relief, pitching four-plus innings, giving up three hits, and striking out one Carlisle hitter. With the loss, Carroll falls to 5-12. The Tigers are back in action on Friday against Greene County.

The IKM-Manning Wolves pick up a win on the road over Audubon. Both teams hit the ball well. Audubon’s pitching struggled, giving up 11 free bases. The Wolves scored first in the top of the first inning, taking a 2-0 lead. Ross Kusel led the game off with a single and later came around the score. Lane Sams reached on a walk and later scored on a hit-by-pitch against Zander Richards. Audubon would cut into the lead in the bottom of the second. Evan Alt led the inning off with a walk and came around to score on a fielder’s choice from Brody Weber to make the score 2-1. Neither team scored in the third inning. The Wolves would extend their lead in the fourth inning, plating three runs to take a 5-1 lead. IKM-Manning scored three runs on two hits in the inning. The lead would grow to 13-1. IKM-Manning scored two runs in the fifth inning and six more in the sixth. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Audubon plated five runs on four hits to cut into the lead, making the score 13-5. The Wolves added one run in the seventh and would go on to win 14-6.

IKM-Manning recorded 14 hits in the game. Ross Kusel went 5-6 with a double and three runs scored. Lane Sams was 3-4 with three runs scored. Jace Starman recorded a multi-hit game, going 2-6 with an RBI. Braden Fuchs, Bryc Summerfield, and Zander Richards recorded the other hits for IKM-Manning. The Wheelers, as a team, picked up eight hits. Colton Hansen went 2-4 with a run scored. Brody Weber was 1-4 with a double and three RBI. Broday Schultes recorded an RBI single for the Wheelers. Evan Alt, Aaron Olsen, Karter Obermeier, and Ryan Hermansen picked up the other hits for Audubon.

With the win, IKM-Manning improved to 10-11. The Wolves are back in action on Friday against AHSTW. The Wheelers fell to 1-18. Audubon is back in action on Friday against Tri-Center.

The Coon Rapids-Bayard Crusaders fell at home to the number one team in 2A West Marshall on Thursday. West Marshall scored nine runs in the top of the first inning to open the game up at 9-0 going to the second. West Marshall scored in the first four innings. The Crusaders only recorded one hit coming off the bat of Cal Heydon. The West Marshall scored four runs over the next three innings, and they would go on to win 13-0 in five innings over CRB. The Crusaders used three pitchers. Kolby Culbertson took the loss on the hill, giving up nine earned runs on six hits and striking out one West Marshall batter. With the loss, Coon Rapids-Bayard falls to 12-9. The Crusaders are back in action on Friday against Ar-We-Va.
