There were a lot of runs scored late in this game as both teams rallied, with East Sac being the final team to rally, scoring 6-runs in the 7th inning to win going away. The Raiders put the game away with their 7th inning burst after Manson NW Webster cut their lead to 7-5 with 4-runs in the bottom 6th. The teams combined to score 11 of the 19 runs over the final 2 innings. The Raiders finished with 10 hits and drove in 10 of the 13-runs they scored.

The Raiders took the lead for good in the 2nd inning, scoring a pair of runs to lead 2-1. Carter Erritt walked, one of his three walks in the game. Luke Wright reached on an error and both would come in to score with Bradyn Burns driving in Erritt and Wright stealing home. A 5-run 4th inning pushed the lead to 7-1. The Raiders had four hits in the inning with Luke Wernimont and Bradyn Burns coming up clutch, driving in a pair of runs each. A 4-run bottom 5th got Manson NW Webster back in the game, down 7-5. The Cougars did their damage with 1 hit, 3 hit-by-pitches and 3 walks. East Sac needed to respond and did. They opened the 7th with a walk and back-to-back hit-by-pitches. Bradyn Burns drove in a run with a fly ball to left and Karter Ludwig drove in a pair of runs and Luke Wernimont  knocked in another. East Sac scored 6-runs in the 7th and lead 13-5. Manson NW Webster loaded the bases in the 7th but the Raiders held them to 1-run.

Bradyn Burns had 4 RBI and Karter Ludwig had 2-hits and drove in 3-runs. Ludwig scored twice with Carter Erritt scoring 3-runs. Landon Sporrer and Tucker Grossley both had 2 hits and both scored 2-runs. Luke Wernimont drove in 3-runs. Karter Ludwig earned the win, going 5 1/3 innings with 3 hits and 5 earned runs with 4 strikeouts.

The Raiders improved to 3-10. They are scheduled to host West Bend Mallard on Friday.

Wyatt Ragaller pitched a terrific game, striking out 15, but Exira-EHK scratched across a pair of runs and made it hold up. The Rockets finished with 6 hits, but weren’t able to string them together, leaving guys on base. Ar-We-Va took a step forward on both sides of the ball and will continue to work on improving every day. The Rockets finished with 6 hits with Johnathan Riesselman and Santos Gonzalez both having 2 hits. They had three guys walk and Wyatt Ragaller reached on an error, giving them 10 guys on base. They struck out 4-times. Weston Toft and Grant Wilken added base hits with Ragaller throwing 6 innings, allowing 3 hits with 2 earned runs and 15 strikeouts.

The loss drops Ar-We-Va to 0-9 on the season with a home game against Coon Rapids Bayard on Friday.

The South Central Calhoun Titans fall on the road at home to Newell-Fonda. The Titans held a lead early but lost it late in the loss. SCC hit the ball well, recording 13 hits as a team. In the top of the first inning, the Titans plated three runs, taking a 3-0 lead. Newell-Fonda cut into the lead at the bottom of the second inning, scoring 3-1. The Titan’s lead would grow to 4-1 in the top of the third inning, plating a single run. Newell-Fonda took their first lead of the game, scoring four times in the home half of the third to score 5-4. Neither team scored in the fourth and fifth innings. In the top of the sixth inning, SCC plated two runs to regain the lead at 6-5. Newell-Fonda would respond in the home half with three runs, and they would go on to win 8-6. 

Kaden Dorman went 3-4 with a double and an RBI for the Titans. Cooper Nattress, Halas Stieg, Charlie Nattress, and Brock Nattress each recorded multi-hit games. Andrew Anderson and Aiden Albright recorded the other hits for SCC. Charlie Nattress went four innings on the mound, giving up three earned runs on six hits while striking out four Newell-Fonda batters. With the loss, South Central Calhoun falls to 7-9. The Titans are back in action on Friday against Southeast Valley.

Glidden-Ralston at Coon Rapids-Bayard

The Coon Rapids-Bayard Crusaders pick up a conference win over Glidden-Ralston in four innings of play. Glidden-Ralston’s pitching struggled on Wednesday, giving up 15 free bases. In the bottom of the first inning, Coon Rapids-Bayard scored four runs to take a 4-0 lead. The Crusaders scored in every inning. CRB would add two more runs in the second to extend their lead 6-0. Ten runs came across in the bottom of the third inning for CRB, and they would go on and win 16-0. 

Glidden-Ralston only recorded one hit coming off the bat of Alex Daniel. Cal Heydon recorded a multi-hit game, going 2-3, with a double and an RBI. As a team, CRB recorded five hits. Kolby Culbertson, Parker Hays, and Jace Baker recorded the other hits for the Crusaders. Cade Behrens picked up the win on the mound, going all four innings for CRB. Blayce Nelson suffered the loss, going one-plus inning, giving up two earned runs, and walking six batters. 

With the win, CRB improves to 12-8-1. The Crusaders are back in action on Thursday against West Marshall. With the loss, Glidden-Ralston fell to 3-11. The Wildcats are back in action on Monday against Boyer Valley.
