Kuemper 1 (6 Innings)
Kuemper played well but couldn’t string enough hits together and Atlantic slugged four extra base hits, helping them score in four of their six innings. The Knights out hit Atlantic for most of the game but seven of their eight hits were singles. The Trojans took advantage of a couple key miscues by Kuemper , extending innings, scoring five runs with 2 outs. The Knights had the bases loaded in the 5th with no outs but a line drive caught by a leaping McKenna Sonntag at 2nd base. She was able to turn it into a double play and Atlantic got out of trouble with no Kuemper runs. Kuemper stranded eight runners on base.
Atlantic struck in the 2nd inning, scoring 3-runs, all coming with 2-outs. Kuemper responded in the 3rd with Allison Ostrander doubling with 1-out and scoring on a ground out by Ellie Sibbel. She moved to 3rd on a single from Charlotte Schwabe. Schwabe and Sibbel singled back-to-back in the 1st, but were stranded. The Trojans scored a pair of runs in the 3rd inning, getting a single and a double, then scoring on wild pitches. A Kuemper error extended the Trojans 4th inning as they scored 3-runs to lead 8-1. Kuemper looked in great shape in the 5th. Kayla Wiskus singled to start the inning and Kaci Peter beat out a bunt to put runners on 1st and 2nd. Allison Ostrander reached on a fielder’s choice with Peter beating the throw to 2nd base. Kuemper had bases loaded with no outs and Charlotte Schwabe at the plate. Schwabe ripped a hard line drive and McKenna Sonntag was able to jump and snare it, doubling off the runner at 2nd. A strikeout ended the Knights threat with Atlantic leading 8-1. Riley Wood tripled with 1-out for Atlantic in the 6th and the Trojans singled back-to-back and scored the final two runs on a Knight error.
Charlotte Schwabe had a pair of hits. Allison Ostrander doubled and scored with Ellie Sibbel driving her in. Myli Schaefer took the loss, allowing 10 hits and 3 earned runs with 6 strikeouts.
Kuemper falls to 11-8 overall and will host Greene County on Thursday for Senior Night.

The East Sac County Raiders pick up a big win on the road Wednesday as the season starts to wind down. The Raiders jumped out to an early lead, plating two runs in the top of the first, taking a 2-0 lead. The Raider lead would grow in the second inning to 3-0. Neither team scored in the third inning. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Manson NW Webster cut into the lead, plating a single run to make the score 3-1. East Sac County would respond in the top of the fifth inning as their lead would grow to 7-1. The game would go to the bottom of the seventh, and Manson NW Webster would score two runs, but ESC would go on to win 7-3.
As a team, the Raiders recorded eight hits. Sarah Bontrager went 3-4 with two RBI. Gracie Snyder had a multi-hit game, going 2-4. Anna McCollough, Makenna Steiger, and Miranda Gerdes recorded the other hits for the Raiders. Gerdes picked up the win in the circle, going all seven innings, giving up five hits, and striking out nine Manson NW Webster hitters. With the win, East Sac County improved to 7-9. The Raiders are back in action on Saturday at the Alta-Aurelia tournament.

The South Central Calhoun Titans ran into a good team in Newell-Fonda on the road Wednesday. As a team, SCC only recorded one hit, and it came off the bat of Olivia Toms. In the bottom of the first inning, Newell-Fonda scored ten runs, taking a 10-0 lead. The lead would grow in the second inning as the Mustangs scored seven more runs to go and win 17-0. Mady Smidt pitched all two innings in the circle, giving up 17 earned runs on eight hits and picking up one strikeout. With the loss, SCC falls to 1-12. The Titans are back in action on Friday against Southeast Valley.

The Coon Rapids-Bayard Crusaders picked up a come-from-behind victory on Wednesday against Glidden-Ralston. Both teams hit the ball well in the match-up. The Wildcats went in order in the top of the first inning. In the home half, CRB jumped out to an early lead, picking up two runs on a couple of hits to take an early 2-0 lead. Glidden-Ralston would respond with three runs in the top of the second inning to take a 3-2 lead. Glidden-Ralston picked up two hits in the inning but also took advantage of a CRB error. Neither team scored in the third or fourth innings, as the game would stay at 3-2 in favor of the Wildcats. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Glidden-Ralston would extend their lead on an RBI single from Brileigh Bock to score 4-2. The Crusaders struggled to score runs in the middle part of the game. Glidden-Ralston would add to their lead in the bottom of the fifth inning, making the score 6-2.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, CRB was able to get runners on and take advantage of timely hits. The Crusaders sent nine batters to the plate, scoring four runs to tie the game up at 6-6. Three of the runs in the inning came with two outs. Glidden-Ralston was able to get a runner on base in the top of the seventh but was unable to push a run across. In the home half of the seventh, Brooklynn Burmeister reached on a bunt single. She would pick up a stole base and advance to third on a wild pitch. With two outs in the inning, Aubrey Hofbauer came to the plate. Hofbauer hit a line drive to right field, picking up a walk-off RBI single as the Crusaders went on to win 7-6.
As a team, Coon Rapids-Bayard recorded nine hits. Aubrey Hofbauer went 3-4 with three RBI for the Crusaders. Piper Mason also had a multi-hit game, going 2-3 with two RBI. Malia Clayburg was 2-4 with a triple. Brooklynn Burmeister and Maddy Mason recorded the other hits for CRB. Anna Hart picked up the win in the circle, going all seven innings, giving up two earned runs on nine hits, and striking out three Glidden-Ralston hitters. Glidden-Ralston picked up eight hits at the plate. Brenna Bowman went 2-2 with an RBI for the Wildcats. Allison Snyder was 2-3 with a double and an RBI. Ashlynn Tigges also had a multi-hit game, going 2-4. Tiela Janssen and Brileigh Bock recorded the other hits for Glidden-Ralston. Jaelyn Subbert pitched all seven innings in the circle, picking up the loss. Subbert gave up four earned runs on eight hits while striking out eight CRB hitters.
With the loss, Glidden-Ralston falls to 6-9. The Wildcats are back in action on Friday against Panorama. With the win, Coon Rapids-Bayard improves to 6-7. The Crusaders are back in action on Friday against Ar-We-Va.
