The Carroll Tigers pick up another nonconference win on Friday as they knock off Nevada at home. Stone Sibenaller threw a complete game on the hill for Carroll. In the home half of the first inning, Ryan North picked up an RBI on a sac fly, giving Carroll an early 1-0 lead. The Tigers would extend their lead in the second inning with a Tate Schlieisman 2-run single to take a 3-0 lead. Nevada would cut into the lead in the top of the third inning, plating one run to make it 3-1. The Tigers would grow their lead again in the four off an RBI triple for Braxton Lu. The Tiger’s fifth run would come across in the fifth as they would take a 5-1 lead. Nevada would make the game interesting, adding a run in the sixth and seventh innings, but Carroll would hold on to win 5-3.
As a team, Carroll recorded seven hits. Stone Sibenaller went all seven innings on the mound, picking up the win. Sibenaller struck out nine Nevada batters while giving up seven hits. Chase Ragaller went 2-3 with an RBI. Baxton Lu continues to hit the ball well for Carroll over the last couple of games. He went 1-3 with a triple and an RBI. Carter Essick, Ryan North, Landon Petersen, and Tate Schlieisman recorded the other hits for the Tigers. With the win, Carroll improves to 5-10. The Tigers are back in action on Monday against North Polk.

The Titans earned a hard fought win in extra innings, taking advantage of a Raiders miscue in the top of the 8th to score 4-runs. East Sac battled back in the bottom 8th and had the tying run at 2nd base with 2-outs but weren’t able to tie the game. South Central Calhoun led early, scoring a pair of runs in the 1st inning and one more in the 2nd inning to lead 3-0. They pushed it to 6-0 with a 3-run 4th. East Sac came alive offensively in the 5th, scoring 6-runs to tie the game at 6. Both teams scored in the 7th inning with East Sac leaving the bases loaded. South Central Calhoun took the lead, scoring 4 unearned runs with 2-outs. East Sac tried to answer in the bottom half, Karter Ludwig hit a 2-run triple and scored on a base hit by Luke Wernimont. Wernimont moved to 2nd base but the Titans were able to end the game with a strikeout.
The Titans offense finished with 13-hits, led by Charlie Nattress with 4 hits and 2 RBI. Andrew Anderson added 3 hits with a double and scored 4-runs. Cooper Nattress drove in 3-runs on 2 hits and Kaden Dorman had 2 hits and 2 RBI along with scoring 3-runs. Marshall Bundt picked up the win, going 4 1/3 inning, allowing 4 hits and 3 earned runs with 4 strikeouts.
The Raiders had their best offensive game, collecting 13 hits with a pair of doubles and triples. Carter Erritt led them with 3 hits and drove in 2-runs. Bradyn Burns had 2 hits and scored twice, Karter Ludwig, tripled, driving in 2-runs and scoring 3-runs. Landon Sporrer tripled, scoring twice and driving in 2-runs. Luke Wernimont had a pair of hits with a double and scored once.
South Central Calhoun moves to 7-6 overall and hosts Sioux Central on Saturday at 11:30. East Sac falls to 2-9 and will head to Sioux Central on Monday.

Ar-We-Va battled back from an early deficit but wasn’t able to string enough hits together to push any more runs across the board as the Tigers pulled away late, scoring 4-runs in the 6th to end the game. The Tigers scored 3-runs in each of the first-two innings but A-We-Va scratched a run in the 2nd inning, then scored twice in the top of the 4th, pulling within 6-3. Woodbine answered with a run in the bottom 4th.
Johnathan Riesselman, Weston Toft and Derek Thomsen all had one hit with all three scoring a run. Thomsen had an RBI.
The Rockets fall to 0-7 overall and will travel to CAM on Monday.

Mark Lensch hit his second home run of the season as Glidden Ralston hit the ball well, but right at the Cougars on Friday. They finished with two hits but hung close until the 7th inning. CAM scored in each of the first-four innings, but led 7-2 after 4 innings as the Wildcats pushed a pair of runs across the plate in the 4th. CAM put the game out of reach with a 5-run top of the 7th. Daniel Thooft had the Wildcats’ other hit and Charles Schon scored their other run. The loss drops the Wildcats to 3-9 overall as they head to Exira-EHK on Monday.

The Wheelers recorded five hits as they would go on to lose to Interstate-35 at home on Friday. Aaron Olsen went 2-3 in the game with a double and a run scored. Brody Schultes also recorded a multi-hit game, going 2-3. Evan Alt recorded the other hit for Audubon. Alta also drove in the only run of the game. I-35 would go on to win the game 13-1. Wheelers pitching gave up eight earned runs on 13 hits. Olsen picked up the loss on the hill, going one-plus inning, giving up six earned runs, and walking three I-35 batters. Evan Alt pitched three-plus innings for the Wheelers, giving up one hit and striking out four batters. Alt also hit seven batters and gave up two earned runs. With the loss, Audubon falls to 1-15-1. The Wheelers are back in action on Monday against Missouri Valley.

The IKM-Manning Wolves split a varsity doubleheader, dropping game one against Riverside. IKM-Manning only managed three hits in the game. Riverside scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning to jump out to a 3-0 lead. Neither team scored over the next three innings. Riverside would add more runs in the fifth inning and sixth inning as they would lead 8-0. IKM-Manning plated two runs in the top of the seventh inning but would go on to lose 8-2. Kasche Huehn, Bryc Summerfield, and Brock Kusel recorded the hits for the Wolves. IKM-Manning committed five errors in the game, which led to four unearned runs. Zander Richards suffered the loss on the hill, going five-plus innings, giving up four earned runs, and striking out three Riverside hitters.

Jace Starman had a huge game, homering and doubling, helping him collect 6 RBI. His bat, the pitching of Tristan Barry and the Wolves ability to take advantage of 12 walks and 5 hit-by-pitches by Bulldog pitching. IKM-Manning scored 13-runs, scoring in five of the six innings they batted in. They scored those runs with five hits, with three of the five going for extra bases. Brock Kusel added a double to Starman’s success. The Wolves exploded for 5-runs in the 1st inning, adding 3-runs in both the 2nd and 3rd innings. Riverside tried to battle back but Tristan Barry only allowed 6 hits.
Jace Starman went 3-3 with a double and a home run, finishing with 6 RBI. Ross Kusel, Kasche Huehn and Lane Sams all scored twice. Brock Kusel had a double and drove in a pair of runs. Tristan Barry went the full 7 innings, allowing 6 hits and5 earned runs with 7 strikeouts.
The Wolves sit 9-9 overall and will head to LoMa on Monday.
