Carroll at Gilbert

The Carroll Tigers dropped their third straight game this week with a ten-run loss in five innings to Gilbert on Wednesday. Averi Burke started the game with a lead-off double in the top of the first, but the Tigers were unable to score. Gilbert took the lead in the home half with three runs and then added one more in the second to take a 4-0 lead. Gilbert would extend their lead to 10-0 with six runs in the third inning. Emma Kuhlmann hit a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Tigers on board, making it 10-1. Gilbert would end the game in the fifth with one run to win 11-1 over Carroll. Averi Burke, Emma Kuhlmann, Parker Adams and Bella Lu picked up the hits for Carroll. With the loss, Carroll falls to 6-13. The Tigers are back in action on Thursday against ADM.

East Sac County at Southeast Valley

The East Sac County Raiders have had a rough week as they lost in three innings to Southeast Valley. East Sac County was no hit in the game. Southeast Valley scored four runs in the first inning to take a 4-0 lead. The Jaguars opened the game up in the second with six runs to take a 10-0 lead. The Raiders would go on to lose 12-0. Only two batters reached base in the game for ESC. Jamie Pierce was hit by a pitch and picked up a stolen base. Kamryn Ross also recorded a walk. With the loss, East Sac County falls to 5-8. The Raiders are back in action on Friday against South Central Calhoun.

Pocahontas Area at South Central Calhoun

The South Central Calhoun Titans struggled defensively with ten errors in a 12-run loss to Pocahontas area at home. SCC put the ball in play only striking out three times at the plate. Pocahontas took the lead in the first inning, scoring one run. They would add eight in the second to take a 9-0 lead over South Central Calhoun. Four more runs came across in the third, and PAC went on to win 13-1. Olivia Toms and Gracie Hungate singles in the game. Jayci Graeve doubled for the Titans. Hundgate took the loss in the circle, giving up only three hits but 13 earned runs. With the loss, SCC falls to 0-10. The Titans are back in action on Friday against East Sac County.

Glidden Ralston at Ar-We-Va

The Glidden-Ralston Wildcats hit the ball well in a win on the road over Ar-We-Va on Wednesday. Eight different players recorded a hit for Glidden-Ralston. The Wildcats opened the game with five runs in the top of the first inning to take an early 5-0 lead. Emma Lieting and Delaney Schurke were able to reach base in the home half but no runs came across. Neither team scored in the second inning. The Rockets plated two runs in the bottom of the third to cut into the lead at 5-2. The Rockets scored two runs on three hits. Gabrielle Hundling recorded a double in the innings. Glidden-Ralston would respond with two runs in the top of the fourth to extend their lead to 7-2. Jaelyn Subbert recorded a double in the innings. The Rockets cut it to a three-run game in the fifth to make it 7-4. Glidden-Ralston would add six runs over the last two innings to go on and win 13-4.

For Glidden-Ralston Tiela Janssen was 3-4 with an RBI. Jaelyn Subbert was 3-5 with two doubles and four RBIs. Kassidy Wenck also recorded a multi-hit game for Glidden-Ralston. Subbert picked up the win in the circle, striking out 18 Rocket hitters while pitching all seven innings. Ar-We-Va recorded three hits in the game, all coming in the third inning. Gabrielle Hundling doubled for the Rockets. Jazmine Molina and Karime Sanchez recorded the other hits.

With the loss, Ar-We-Va falls to 1-4. The Rockets are back in action on Friday against Woodbine. With the win, Glidden-Ralston improved to 5-7. The Wildcats will be back in action on Friday against CAM.

The Coon Rapids-Bayard Crusaders only recorded one hit as they lost at home to a good Woodbine team. Woodbine opened the first inning, plating four runs and taking a 4-0 lead. Neither team scored in the second and third innings, as the score would stay 4-0. Woodbine added another run in the fifth to grow their lead to 5-0. Eight more runs combined came across for Woodbine in the fifth and sixth innings as they would go on to win 13-0 over CRB. Mya Downing recorded the lone hit for the Crusaders. Anna Hart went six innings in circle, giving up 11 earned runs on 11 hits. With the loss, CRB falls to 4-7. The Crusaders are back in action on Monday against Boyer Valley.

IKM-Manning struggled at the plate on Wednesday as they managed only two hits against #11 Griswold. Griswold plated a run in the bottom of the first inning to take an early 1-0 lead. Neither team scored in the second, as the score would stay 1-0. Griswold extended their lead to 3-0 in the third, plating two more runs. Both teams would go scoreless in the fourth inning. Griswold added a run in the fifth and sixth innings to go on and win 6-0. Keagan Eischeid and Lauren Greving recorded the lone hits for IKM-Manning. Ella Richards took the loss in the circle, going all seven innings, giving up four earned runs, and striking out three batters. With the loss, IKM-Manning falls to 2-15. The Wolves are back in action on Thursday against Missouri Valley.
