Carroll Merchants Use Big 6th Inning for Win Over Warren County

Carroll rallied in the 6th inning, then held on to earn a 12-7 win on Wednesday. They trailed 5-4 before exploding for 8-runs in the 6th inning. Sammy Harris started the rally with an RBI single, scoring Justin Ricketts. Jake McClure moved to 3rd o n the hit and scored moments later on a wild pitch. Logan Harris singled to score Sammy Harris and the big inning began to form, Justin Ricketts hit again in the inning, driving in Cullen McBride and Jake McClure drove in a pair of runs and the Merchants were up 12-5. They had five hits in the inning and benefited from a pair of Warren County errors.  Warren County answered with a pair of runs in the 7th but the Merchants shut the door over the final two innings.

Sammy Harris had a team high 3 hits as the Merchants had six players get a hit in the game. Harris added a double and a pair of RBI. Logan Harris tripled and drove in 4 RBI while Jake McClure had a pair of hits, drove in a pair of runs and scored twice. Justin Ricketts scored 3 times.

The Merchants travel to St Joe’s on Thursday.
