The Carroll Tigers pick up a big win on the road in a battle of two local schools. Carroll hit the ball well, picking up 12 hits as a team. SCC put the ball in play but only recorded three hits in the match-up. The Titans struggled in the field, committing eight errors. All 20 runs Carroll scored were earned runs. Carroll opened the game, scoring seven runs in the first inning to take a 7-0 lead. SCC’s run came in the home half of the first inning. Carroll added three more runs in the second inning and ten in the third inning to go on and win 20-1 over South Central Calhoun.

The Carroll Tigers had three extra-base hits in the game. Jersey Sporrer went 1-3 and recorded four RBIs. Averi Burke, Parker Adams, and Marin Overmohle recorded a double for the Tigers. In the circle, Burke pitched all three innings, giving up four hits and striking out two. SCC, as a team, recorded three hits. Olivia Toms, Jayci Graeve, and Mia Babcock recorded the hits for the Titans. SCC’s pitching gave up five walks and hit three Carroll batters. With the win, Carroll improves to 4-8. SCC falls to 0-7. The Titans are back in action on Wednesday against West Bend-Mallard. The Tigers return to the field on Thursday against Ballard.

St. Albert at Kuemper Doubleheader

The Kuemper Knights start the doubleheader with a big conference win over St. Albert. The Knights pitched well in the first game, picking up a 4-0 victory, only giving up two hits. Kuemper, as a team, recorded nine hits at the plate. Neither team scored in the first inning. In the bottom of the second inning, Kuemper plated three runs to take a 3-0 lead. The Knights’s lead would grow in the fifth as they plated another run to take a 4-0 lead. Neither team scored the rest of the game as the Knights went on to win.

Melinda Schaefer and Chloe Gehling each recorded multi-hit games. Kaci Peter, Kaylie Dierckson, Morgan Masching, Ellie Sibbel, and Allison Ostrander also picked up hits in the game. Myli Schaefer went all seven innings in the circle, giving up two hits and striking out seven St. Alber batters.

Game two of the doubleheader was closer than the first, as the Kuemper Knights would pick up the sweep at home. The Kuemper bats game to life in the second game with 16 hits. The Knights trailed early at 1-0 as St. Albert scored one run in the second inning. Kuemper would tie the game up at 1-1 in the home half of the third. St. Albert regained the lead in the fourth inning, plating one run and taking a 2-1 lead. The St. Albert lead grew with three more runs in the fifth to make the score 5-1. Kuemper would tie the game up as the game went on with two runs in the fifth and sixth innings. The game would go to extra innings as neither team scored in the seventh inning. Allison Ostrander led the bottom of the eighth inning with a single. Ostrander would later come around to score, and Kaylie Dierckson would drive in the winning run, as the Knights won 6-5.

Kaci Peter had a fantastic game at the plate, going 4-5. Charlotte Schwabe, Ellie Sibbel, and Allison Ostrander each recorded three hits a piece. Ally Sommerfeld, Melinda Schaefer, and Chloe Gehling also recorded a hit for Kuemper. Myli Schaefer picked up the win in the circle, going four innings, giving up four hits, and striking out eight St. Albert hitters. With the wins, Kuemper improved to 5-4. The Knights are back in action on Thursday against Denison-Schleswig.

CAM at Ar-We-Va

The Ar-We-Va Rockets fall at home on Tuesday. The game was close until CAM opened it up with a big sixth inning. As a team, the Rockets picked up three hits. CAM opened the game with a run in the first inning and another three in the third to take a 4-0 lead over Ar-We-Va. Nine more runs came across the plate for the Cougars in the sixth inning as they held a 13-o lead. The lone Rocket run came across in the sixth inning, but they went on to lose 13-1. Morgan Berg, Amber Ragaller, and Gabby Hundling picked up the Ar-We-Va hits. With the loss, Ar-We-Va falls to 0-2. The Rockets are back in action on Wednesday against Coon Rapids-Bayard.

IKM-Manning At Audubon

Audubon earned another win, their fifth straight while IKM-Manning continued to take steps forward. The Wheelers finished with 7 hits and the Wolves had 6 hits as both pitchers threw well. Alexis Obermeier earned the win for Audubon, going all 7 innings with 12 strikeouts. Ella Richards gave up 5 earned runs with a pair of strikeouts. Audubon scored 3-runs in the 2nd inning, then scored 3 more in the 5th inning. Their final 2-runs came in the 6th inning. 

Alexis Obermeier and Hannah Nelson both had 2 RBI for the Wheelers with Gemini Goodwin scoring twice. The Wheelers had seven different players get a base hit and seven that scored a run. 

Alikxa McGinn paced IKM-Manning with 2 hits with Anna Stangl doubling and Hannah McKinney, Keagan Eisheid and Olivia Linde all having a base hit. 

The Wheelers sit 8-3 overall and 4-1 in the WIC with a home game Thursday against Tri Center. IKM-Manning falls to 2-9 overall and 0-3 in the WIC. They head to AHSTW on Thursday.
