The Knights suffered a disappointing loss on the road Monday, allowing 9-unearned runs as Harlan notches their first win of the season. Harlan scored twice in the 1st inning, then added two more in the 3rd. The game stayed tight as Kuemper got a pair of runs in the 6th. Harlan exploded for 5-runs in the bottom of the 6th to salt the game away. Morgan Masching bunted for a single in the 6th and 7th inning, scoring on a ground ball from Myli Schaefer in the 6th inning and scoring on a single by Kaylie Diercksen in the 7th. Charlotte Schwabe was hit-by-pitch in the 6th and scored on a single by Ellie Sibbel.
The Knights collected 7 hits, scoring 3 runs with Morgan Masching scoring twice and Charlotte Schwabe scoring the other run. Masching had a pair of hits as did Melinda Schaefer. Chloe Gehling stole a pair of bases. The Knights defense had 4 errors, allowing 9-unearned runs.
The loss drops them to 3-4 overall. They host St Albert for a varsity doubleheader on Tuesday.

Carroll led 4-0 after scoring 4-runs in the top of the 2nd inning but Boone exploded for 10-runs in the bottom half and rolled to a 17-7 win in 5 innings. Carroll was out hit 11 to 6 with Boone collecting 3 doubles and being buoyed by 8 walks. The-Toreadors added 5-runs in the 3rd inning to lead 15-5. Both teams scored twice in the 4th.
Kloee Jones and Olivia Rowedder both doubled and scored with Jones driving in a run. Parker Adams added a double and Amanda Wardell and Analia Ayala both scored a run.
The Tigers fall to 3-8 overall as they head to South Central Calhoun on Tuesday.

Breeley Clayburg hit a grand slam home run in the 3rd inning as Coon Rapids Bayard scored 5-runs to blow the game open, going up 11-0. Glidden Ralston rallied with 3-runs in the bottom half but the Crusaders scored 6-runs in the 5th inning to put the game away. Coon Rapids Bayard racked up 12 hits and were helped by the Wildcats defensive struggles. The Wildcats had six errors, extending several innings as Coon Rapids Bayard batted nine girls in the 2nd inning, eight in the 3rd and ten batters in the 5th. The Crusaders defense was strong, especially Amelia Eddy at 3rd base. She made a pair of tremendous plays taking a base hit down the line away from Elizabeth Lloyd in the 2nd inning, making a nice backhanded stop and making a strong throw. She added a nifty catch on a hard low line drive from Tiela Janssen in the 3rd and nearly turned it into a double play.
Malia Clayburg doubled, driving in a pair of runs in the 2nd inning as the Crusaders scored 4-runs to take a 6-0 lead. She doubled, driving in a run in the 1st inning as well. Breeley Clayburg launched a Grand Slam Home Run over the left field fence in the 3rd, helped Coon Rapids Bayard score 5-runs. Piper Mason and Anna Hart doubled in the 5th while Malia Clayburg, Breeley Clayburg, Aubrey Hofbauer, Ella Heithoff and Amelia Eddy all singled.
Jaelyn Subbert doubled, driving in a pair of runs for the Wildcats in the 3rd inning with Kassidy Wenck, Ashlynn Tigges and Elizabeth Lloyd all singled with Tigges and Wenck scoring. Lloyd reached on a fielder’s choice in the 5th and Zoey Pemble came in as a courtesy runner and scored later in the inning.
The Crusaders improved to 3-4 overall and will host Ar-We-Va on 93.7 KKRL on Wednesday. Glidden Ralston falls to 2-5, they host Boyer Valley on 93.7 KKRL on Friday.

Audubon won their 4th in a row and picked up a huge conference win on the road, dominating the game against one of the co-leaders of the conference. They built a 9-0 lead heading into the bottom of the 7th before LoMa scored 3-runs to make the game look closer than what it was. The Wheelers opened the game with 4-runs in the 1st inning and led 7-0 by the 3rd inning. They managed to score 9-runs on six hits, highlighted by a double and home run from Mattie Nielsen. Nielsen and Riley Miller both ended the game with 2 hits and 2 RBI with Addie Hocker leading them with 3 RBI. Miller that was dominant in the circle. She went 7 innings, allowing 2 hits and 0 earned runs with 11 strikeouts. Nielsen scored 3-runs with Taryn Petersen and Mia Gust both scoring twice.
The Wheelers improved to 7-3 overall and 4-1 in the Western Iowa Conference. They are tied with Missouri Valley and Riverside at the top of the league with LoMa a half game back. They host IKM-Manning on Tuesday.

Jamie Pierce hit a solo home run in the 5th, pulling East Sac within 2-1 but the game slipped away in the 6th inning as Pocahontas Area scored 8-runs to blow open the tight game. The Indians scored a run in the 1st and 2nd inning but Miranda Gerdes and the defense shut them down into the 6th. The Raiders offense struggled, finishing with 3 hits and walking once, which didn’t allow them to put pressure on the Indian defense.
Jamie Pierce had a solo home run in the 5th inning while Makenna Steiger and Jen Aschinger both had a base hit.
East Sac falls to 3-2 overall as they head to GTRA on Wednesday.

South Central Calhoun rallied late, scoring 10-runs over the final two innings but fell just short of their first win of the season as Manson NW Webster rallied with 7-runs in the bottom of the 7th inning. The Titans collected 18 hits, out hitting the Cougars 18-11, with 3 extra base hits. The Titans played their game of the season, trailing 4-1 after 5 innings. They took their first lead of the game with a 4-run 6th, going up 5-4. Manson NW Webster tied the game with a run in the bottom 6th but South Central Calhoun looked like they had their first win, scoring 6-runs in the 7th. The Cougars put some pressure on in the 7th and worked their way back, before winning 12-11.
Mady Smidt led the Titans with 3 hits, including a double. Morgan McChesney, Olivia Toms, Shannon Melody, Jayci Graeve, Riley Jacobs, Gracie Hungate and Mia Babcock all had 2 hits. McChesney, Toms, Melody, Graeve and Ryann Hungate all had 2 RBI with Melody and Gracie Hungate both scoring twice.

The final score doesn’t tell the full story of the Wolves game at Treynor on Monday. They trailed 4-2 going into the 6th inning when the Cardinals erupted for 7-runs to cruise through the 7th inning for the win. The Wolves defense did a nice job, holding the Cardinals in check until the 6th. They finished with 17 hits, but left a number of runners on base during the game. Ella Richard the Cardinals to put the ball in play, only walking one during the game. IKM-Manning struggled on offense, striking out 11 times while collecting 4 hits. Keagan Eischeid, an 8th grader led them with 2 hits and an RBI. Alikxa McGinn added a hit and scored a run while Anna Stangl had a hit. Karlee Arp scored their other run.
