Carroll and Audubon At Atlantic Tournament
Audubon had a strong tournament, going 3-0, scoring late in the two of the wins and early and holding on for the third win of the day. All three wins were against schools in a bigger class, helping the Wheelers improve to 6-3 overall. Audubon scored 4-runs in the 6th inning to beat Carroll 7-4, scoring all seven runs over the final 4 innings. Alexis Obermeier had a pair of hits and 2 RBI, helping herself earn the win in the circle. She went 6 innings, allowing 4 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 3. Jordan Porsch added a pair of hits and Gemini Goodwin and Michelle Brooks both doubled with Goodwin scoring a run. The Wheelers had 8 hits. A late rally helped in their win over Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln. They trailed 2-1 entering the 4th inning before taking a 3-2 lead. They blew the game open with a 5-run 5th inning, taking a 8-2 lead. Taryn Petersen was huge at the plate against Abe Lincoln. She doubled and homered in the game, finishing with and RBI and scoring once. Addie Hocker drove in 3 RBI with a pair of hits and Michelle Brooks doubled twice, driving in a pair of runs. Mattie Nielsen added a pair of hits while Riley Miller earned the win, throwing 5 innings, allowing 2 hits and 2 earned runs while striking out 9. Riley Miller drove in Jordan Porsch in the 1st inning against Harlan and Alexis Obermeier and Miller made it hold up in the circle. Obermeier earned the win, going 4 innings, allowing 1 hit and striking out 7 while Miller pitched the final 3 innings striking out 7.
Audubon heads to LoMa on Monday.
Carroll dropped their opener to Audubon, falling late as the Wheelers scored 4-runs in the top of the 6th to win 7-4. The Tigers had 8 hits in the game with Parker Adams doubling. They scored a pair of runs in the 2nd inning to lead 2-0, then were up 3-2 heading into the 5th inning and were up 4-3 entering the top of the 6th. Olivia Rowedder had a team high 2 hits and scored twice, Emma Kuhlmann and Bailey Bowman both scored a run with Bella Lu, Averi Burke and Jersey Sporrer all drove in a run. The Tigers cruised against Harlan, scoring 7-runs in the 2nd inning and 5 more runs in the 3rd inning. Averi Burke drove in 3-runs and Kloee Jones had 2 of their 7-hits. The Tigers used 3 walks and 5 hit-by-pitches to keep the pressure on the Cyclones defense. Averi Burke earned the win, going 2 innings, allowing 2 hits. Kyra Hosenfelt pitched the final inning. Carroll got a nice win over Atlantic, picking up an 8-5 decision. They scored 4-runs in the 1st inning, adding 2 more in the 2nd inning. The bats were rolling against the Trojans, collecting 16 hits with 4 doubles and a home run from Olivia Rowedder. Rowedder and Parker Adams both had 3 hits with Rowedder driving in a pair of runs and scoring twice with Adams having a pair of doubles. Emma Kuhlmann paced the team with 3 RBI. Kloee Jones added a pair of hits and scored twice. Averi Burke earned the win, going 5 innings, allowing 11 hits and 5 earned runs with 2 strikeouts.
The Tigers are 3-7 and will head to Boone on Monday on KIKD 106.7.

Coon Rapids Bayard At West Central Valley Tournament
The Crusaders battled hard on Saturday, dealing with a few injuries and tough opponents, they finished the day 0-2. Coon Rapids Bayard rallied midway through the game against West Central Valley, trailing 5-0 going into the 4th. They scored 4-runs to pull within 5-4. The inning was highlighted by Brooklyn Burmeieter tripling and scoring and Breeley Clayburg hitting a double to score a pair. Breeley led the Crusaders with 2 of their 5 hits with Malia Clayburg and Aubrey Hofbauer also collecting a hit. Maddy Mason and Amelia Eddy both had an RBI and Eddy added a run scored. The game against Ankeny Christian was a struggle with the injuries taking their toll. They fell in 3 innings, allowing 4-runs in the 1st inning and 6-runs in both the 2nd and 3rd innings. They were hurt by 11 walks and 5 hit-by-pitches while collecting just 1 hit at the plate. Anna Hart had the Crusaders lone hit in the game.
The pair of losses drops the Crusaders to 2-4 overall as they head to Glidden Ralston on Monday.
