Kuemper batted fifteen batters in the top of the 7th inning, scoring 9-runs to rally for a big road win against a Hawkeye 10 Conference team. The Knights cranked out twelve hits in the game with six of them in the 7th inning. The game went back and forth with Atlantic taking the early lead, scoring a pair of runs in the 2nd inning. Kuemper answered in the 3rd with John Boes reaching on an error and scoring on a single by Ethan Loew. They tied the game in the 4th with a leadoff walk by Josh Langel. Thomas Pottebaum came in to run for him and scored on an error. Kuemper took their first lead in the 5th, scoring 4-runs on one hit, an Atlantic error and a pair of hit-by-pitches. Josh Langel and Tristan Janson both had an RBI in  the inning. Atlantic responded with 4-runs in the bottom half of the inning, tying the game at 6. Ethan Loew led off the 7th with a walk and the floodgates opened for Kuemper. Evan Loew followed Ethan with a walk and Josh Langel singled. Tristan Janson singled, driving in a pair of runs, John Boes had a sac bunt to score a run, Evan Loew doubled with the bases loaded to score three. Josh Langel singled to score Loew and the Knights went up 15-6.

Kuemper had five guys collect hits with Josh Langel and Tristan Janson both having 3 hits. Janson drove in 3-runs and Langel had 2 RBI. Ethan Loew had 2 hits with a double and walked 3 times. Evan Loew had 2 hits with a double and 3 RBI along with scoring 3-runs. Aaron McDermott added a pair of hits. John Boes Carter Putney and Griffin Bauer all scored twice. Ryan Sundrup earned the win, throwing an inning and a third with no earned runs and a strikeout.

The win moves Kuemper to 3-4 overall and 1-0 in the Hawkeye 10 Conference. They host the CYO Tournament on Saturday after it was moved from Remsen due to rain on Friday.

The game got away from the Raiders in the 3rd inning with Alta-Aurelia scoring 8-runs to open up a close game. The Raiders trailed 2-0 going into the 3rd. East Sac finished the game with four hits and walked three times but struggled to get on base and put pressure on the defense. Luke Wernimont led the Raiders with a pair of singles with Karter Ludwig and Tucker Grosely both having a single.

The loss drops the Raiders to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in the Twin Lakes Conference. They host Pocahontas Area on Monday.

Glidden Ralston got their first win of the season, rallying in the 6th inning. The Wildcats were out hit (10-5) and had more errors (2-1) but kept battling and ran the bases very well, finishing with nine stolen bases, keeping the pressure on the Spartans defense. The Spartans struck early, scoring twice in the top of the 1st inning but Mark Lensch helped Glidden Ralston respond in the bottom of the 1st, hitting a 3-run home run that landed on the pavement behind the parked cars outside the outfield fence. That gave Glidden Ralston confidence and momentum and they would built a 6-2 lead with 3-runs in the 2nd inning. Exira-EHK chipped away at the deficit, scoring a pair of runs in the 3rd, 4th and 5th innings. Glidden Ralston trailed 8-7 heading into the 6th when they erupted for 4-runs. They held the Spartans to 1-run in the top of the 7th to move to 1-5 on the season 1-1 in the Rolling Valley Conference.

The Wildcats host Coon Rapids Bayard on Monday.

Audubon continued to show growth in a tight loss at home on Friday. The Wheelers tied the game in the 3rd inning getting a leadoff single by Gabe Jensen, followed by singles from Jack Stanerson and Brody Schultes to load the bases. Evan Alt got them on the board with a 2-run single. Missouri Valley took advantage of a Wheeler error in the 4th, scoring a run to take a 3-2 lead. They stretched the lead with a 4-run 6th inning. The Wheelers tried to rally in the bottom half with back-to-back singles by Carson Wessel and Colton Hansen to leadoff the inning. Adam Obrecht hit a sac fly to center, scoring Wessel, cutting the deficit to 7-3 but the Wheelers weren’t able to score again.

Audubon finished with nine hits, led by Evan Alt and Colton Hansen with 2 each. Alt had a pair of RBI and Adam Obrecht added an RBI. Brody Beane, Jack Stanerson and Carson Wessel scored. Carson Meaike pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing 10 hits and 2 earned runs with 5 strikeouts.

The loss drops the Wheelers to 0-7-1 overall and 0-4 in the Western Iowa Conference. They travel to LoMa on Monday.

IKM-Manning dropped a heartbreaker on Friday, falling in the 7th inning. The Wolves won a game on Tuesday, scoring in the 7th. Friday, LoMa scored with 2-outs in the top of the 7th, getting a base hit to left field with runners on 1st and 3rd. Ross Kusel pitched a strong game, allowing 5 hits and walking 1. He allowed just 1 earned run. The Wolves finished with 5 hits, had a pair of walks and a hit-by-pitch but couldn’t get the hit with runners in scoring position. Kasche Huehn and Bryc Summerfield both had a pair of  hits and Jace Starman added a hit.

The win improves the Wolves improved to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the Western Iowa Conference.

Coon Rapids Bayard built a 6-0 lead in the 2nd inning when Cal Heydon hit a grand slam home run. They held on the rest of the game, using a run in the bottom of the 5th to win 7-6. The Bulldogs chipped away at the Crusaders lead, scoring once in the 3rd inning, 3-runs in the 4th inning and 2 more runs in the 6th inning. The Crusaders got on the board first with a run in the bottom of the 1st inning, then erupted for 5-runs in the 2nd inning, highlighted by Cal Heydon.

The Crusaders finished with 7 hits with Cal Heydon and Caden Oswald both having 2 hits. Heydon had a double to go with the grand slam, finishing with 4 RBI and scoring twice. Oswald had a double and scored. Tyler Mohr pitched in with an RBI double while Kolby Culbertson scored twice. Caden Oswald earned the win, throwing 1 2/3 innings, allowing 1 hit with 2 strikeouts.

The win improves the Crusaders to 3-4-1 overall and 1-0 in the Rolling Valley Conference. They host a tournament on Saturday starting at 10:00.
