Carroll At Carlisle

Carroll struggled on defense, allowing several unearned runs as they fall to 7th ranked Carlisle in 3 innings on Thursday. The Wildcats opened up their lead with 5-runs in the 2nd inning, then ended it with a 6-run 3rd inning. Emma Kuhlman doubled for the Tigers.

Carroll falls to 1-6 overall and 0-3 in the Raccoon River Conference. They head to Atlantic on Saturday for tournament play.

South Central Calhoun At Ogden

Jayci Graeve doubled and scored on a single by Mia Babcock in the 1st inning as the Titans took a 1-0 lead early. Ogden answered with a 3-run bottom half of the inning, collecting a pair of hits while using three Titans errors. Mady Smidt made a nice play, fielding the ball in the circle for the final out of the inning, leaving the Bulldogs with the bases full. Shannon Melody started the top 2nd with a single but the Titans weren’t able to push a run across the plate. Ogden opened up the game with a 9-run 2nd inning. Haylee Wiederin turned a nifty 5U-5-3 double play to end the 2nd inning. The Bulldogs led 12-1 going to the 3rd. A leadoff triple helped the Bulldogs end the game in the 3rd inning.

Jayci Graeve had a double and a run scored and Mia Babcock and Shannon Melody both singled. Babcock added an RBI.

The Titans fell to 0-5 on the season and will host Sioux Central on Friday.

Atlantic At Audubon

Audubon faced their second ranked team of the season, falling in a game that was called due to rain before it was completed. Atlantic used a 7-run 2nd inning to build a lead the Wheelers kept chipping away at but ran out of time. Audubon responded with a 5-run 3rd inning, then added a run in the 5th after Atlantic extended the lead with 2-runs in the 4th. Both teams had 9-hits with Audubon making strong contact. All nine Wheelers in the lineup had a hit. The game was called in the 6th inning with the Wheelers trailing 9-7.

Jordan Porsch hit her first home run of the season while Mattie Nielsen doubled and scored. Riley Miller added a double with an RBI and scored and Michelle Brooks and Addie Hocker both had 2 RBI. Taryn Petersen scored a pair of runs.

The Wheelers fell to 3-2 overall and will host 4th ranked Missouri Valley on Friday.

Greene County At Glidden Ralston

Glidden Ralston played in a high scoring affair as the teams combined for 38 hits and 28-runs. The Wildcats built an early lead, scoring 3 times in the 1st inning and once in the 2nd inning to lead 4-1. Greene County took the lead with a 3-run 4th inning, going up 5-4. The Rams added 5-runs in the 5th inning but Glidden Ralston answered with a 3-run bottom half, pulling within 10-7. Greene County extended the lead in the 7th inning, scoring 5-runs to lead 16-9 heading to the final half inning. Glidden Ralston, finished with three home runs, getting one in the 7th inning. They finished with 15 hits but weren’t able to climb the deficit.

The Wildcats had six players finish with a multi-hit game. Jaelyn Subbert, Elizabeth Lloyd and Brileigh Bock all homered with Bock’s being an inside the park home run. Kassidy Wenck had 3 hits with a double, Tiela Janssen, Ashlynn Tigges, Jaelyn Subbert, Elizabeth Lloyd and Brileigh Bock all had 2 hits. Subbert added double to her home run finishing with 3 RBI. Elizabeth Lloyd and Brileigh Bock added 3 RBI each.

The loss drops Glidden Ralston to 2-3 overall. They host Ogden on Friday.
