The Kuemper Knights pick up their second win of the season with a victory over Ridge View at home Friday. Myli Schaefer was outstanding in the circle for Kumper, only giving up one unearned run. Kuemper scored the first run of the game in the home half of the first inning, plating one run to take an early 1-0 lead. Both teams’ defense and pitching were the story of the game, as neither team scored for the next three innings. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Kuemper extended their lead by plating three runs to make the score 4-0. Ridge View cut into the Knights lead in the top of the sixth with one run. Kuemper would go on to win 4-1 on Friday.
Mylie Schaefer went all seven innings in the circle, picking up 12 strikeouts for Kuemper. As a team, the Knights picked up five hits. Charlotte Schwabe picked up two hits and two RBIs for the Knights. The other hits came from Ellie Sibbel, Melinda Schaefer, and Allison Ostrander. With the win, Kuemper improves to 2-0. The Knights are back in action on Saturday at the Ogden tournament.

The South Central Calhoun traveled to Pocahontas Area Friday and fell on the road. As a team, SCC only recorded one hit. Pocahontas Area only scored runs in two innings. They scored six in the first inning and added six more in the second inning. Pocahontas went on to win 12-0 over SCC. Jayci Graeve went 1-2 in the game. With the loss, South Central Calhoun falls to 0-3. The Titans are back in action on Wednesday against GTRA.

The IKM-Manning Wolves fell on the road to Tri-Center 14-4 Friday. With the loss, IKM-Manning falls to 1-2 to start the season. The Wolves are back in action on Saturday at the Clarinda tournament.
