Girls State Tennis Results For Friday, May 24th
Class 1A Girls State Tennis
Kaylie Simons of the Kuemper Knights competed Friday in Iowa City at the state girls’ tennis tournament. Simons competed in singles play for the Knights. She picked up a 2-0 (6-4, 6-2) victory in the opening round over Isabel Toblin of Ceder Rapids Xavier. Simons advanced to the quarterfinals and lost to Kate Holton of Columbus Catholic 2-0 (6-0, 6-1). On the back side of the bracket, Kaylie Simons lost to Peyton Klooster or Aplington-Parkersburg 2-1 (1-6, 6-1, 10-7). Simons sophomore season comes to an end at the state tournament.
