Kuemper At Coldwater Golf Links At Ames-Class 2A
Kuemper started a little slow on Monday morning, sitting in 5th place as a team through the first-four holes. They rallied back during the middle portion of the day, moving to as high as 3rd place in the team standings before ending the day in 5th place with a 316. They enter day two still in contention, trailing Beckman Catholic by 10 strokes. Beckman Catholic leads Pella Christian by a stroke, Grundy Center by two strokes and Columbus Catholic by three strokes. Luke Harwick of Beckman Catholic is the individual leader shooting -3 with Axton Miller of OABCIG in 2nd place at -2 and Cody Weaver of East Marshall in 3rd at -1. Beckman had four guys in the top 10 early but enter Tuesday with three guys in top 16. Pella Christian and Grundy Center both have two players in the top 10.
Maverick Schwabe leads the Knights with a 75, going 38 on the front 9 with a birdie and six pars. He shot a 37 on the back 9 with a birdie and five pars. Carter Putney shot a 79 with a 38 on the front 9 with two birdies and three pars. He fired a 41 on the back 9 with a birdie and three pars. Braxton Vonnahme ended his day with a 81, shooting a 40 on the front 9 with a birdie and three pars and a 41 on the back 9 with four pars. Kayden Schon also shot an 81 with a 42 on the front 9. Schon had a birdie and three pars. He finished with a 39 on the back 9 with a birdie and five pars.
