East Sac battled back from down 1-0 at half to advance through the opening round of Regionals. The game went back and forth in the first half with both teams stepping up defensively. Sioux Center struck first with a goal that was kicked from midfield and bounced high and into the goal, giving them a 1-0 lead with 5:30 left in the half. The Raiders struck back in the 2nd half with Chloe Bieret tying the game at 1 with 36:00 left. The defenses controlled the game most of the rest of the half, with East Sac holding Sioux Center to two shots on goal. Kenna Meyer gave the Raiders the lead for good, scoring with 14:51 left and Cora Mahler put it out of reach with a goal 3:00 later.
Chloe Bieret, Kenna Meyer and Cora Mahler all scored a goal and Denae Thayer finished with 7 saves.
The Raiders head to Bishop Heelan on Tuesday.
