Red Oak At Carroll

Carroll scored a pair of goals late in the 1st half, taking a lead they wouldn’t relinquish. Red Oak cut into the lead before half but Carroll edged away in the 2nd half, snapping a 5 game losing streak. Carroll outshot Red Oak 19-3 as the defense kept the ball out of their end, allowing the offense to attack. Chase Ragaller led the Tigers with 6 shots on goal with Landon Petersen and Kieran Polking both shooting 3 shots on goal. Ragaller put Carroll ahead 1-0 with 5:06 left in the 1st half. Landon Petersen extended it to 2-0 0:20 later, scoring with 4:46 left in the half. Red Oak answered with 2:34 left in the half, cutting the Carroll lead to 2-1 at half.

Kieran Polking extended Carroll’s lead to 3-1 with a goal with 26:30 left in the 2nd half. Carroll put the game out of reach when Red Oak scored an own goal with 8:06 left in the game.

Tanner Heithoff finished the game with 3 saves, Elias Villanueva and Jameson Polking both added 2 shots on goal.

The win improved Carroll to 4-12. They head to Harlan on May 20th for District Semifinals.

East Sac hung tough early but Greene County scored a pair of goals in less than 10:00 to take a 2-0 lead with 20:22 left in the 1st half. They added a goal and led 3-0 at half. The Raiders struggled to get the ball on the offensive end and when they did, they were able to get shots but only 4 of the 13 were on goal. The 5th ranked Rams added a pair of goals in the 2nd half to win 5-0. Luke Wernimont finished the game with 15 saves, Sam Schmitt had 6 shots with 4 on goal. Isaiah Aragon had 3 shots and Luke Wright had 2 shots.

The loss drops the Raiders to 4-4 on the season. They will host Kuemper on Saturday morning.
