Boys Sectional Golf Results Wednesday, May 8th 

Kuemper and South Central Calhoun At Carroll National Golf Course- Class 2A 

Kuemper advances to the Districts at Landsmeer Golf Course on Monday after the Knights won the Sectional meet convincingly on Wednesday. Caleb Gaffney of South Central Calhoun is also headed to Landsmeer, having an outstanding day for the Titans. The Knights had five golfers in the top 10 and all six golfers finish in the top 16. They shot a 299, winning the Sectional by 36-strokes over 2nd place Cherokee, which shot a 335. Ridge View was 3rd with a 342 and Manson NW Webster finished 4th with a 355. Kuemper, Cherokee and Ridge View advanced to Districts along with Tucker Smith of Manson NW Webster and Caleb Gaffney of South Central Calhoun.

Maverick Schwabe won the Sectional for Kuemper, shooting 1 under par with a 69. Schwabe shot a 33 on the front and a 36 on the back 9. He had 5 birdies on the front and 2 pars to go with a birdie and 6 pars on the back 9. Braxton Vonnahme took 2nd place with a 71 for the Knights. Vonnahme went 37 on the front and 34 on the back. Vonnahme shot 3 birdies on the front along with 2 pars and 3 birdies and 3 pars on the back. Jack Lenz had a strong day for the Knights, finishing 5th with a 79 which included 6 pars on the front and 5 pars on the back. Carter Putney added a 80, finishing 7th. Putney had 6 pars on the front and 3 pars on the back.

Caleb Gaffney continued his strong season for the Titans, shooting a 81 to finish in 8th place. That qualifies him to advance to Districts. He shot a 44 on the front and a 37 on the back. Gaffney had 3 pars on the front and a birdie and 5 pars on the back. Caleb Juhl shot a 86, taking 14th place with a 42 on the front and a 44 on the back. Juhl had 3 pars on the front and 3 pars on the back. Charlie Nattress went 48 on the front and 43 on the back, shooting a 91. He finished in 25th place a par on both the front and the back. Kaden Dorman was 38th with a 101, shooting 55 on the front and 46 on the back. He had 2 pars on the front a par on the back.

Carroll At Emerald Hills- Class 3A 

Carroll season came to an end of Wednesday at Emerald Hills, hosted by Okoboji. The Tigers finished 8th with a 353 behind 7th place Algona, which shot a 347. MOC Floyd Valley and Spencer advanced to Districts at the Carroll National Golf Course on Monday. MOC Floyd Valley won the meet with a 303 and Spencer shot a 321, finishing in 2nd place. Okoboji, the host school took 3rd with a 337. Carson Korver MOC Floyd Valley finished in 1st place, shooting a 72 and Gavin Frederes of MOC Floyd Valley was 2nd place with a 75.

Garrett Blunk led Carroll with a 85, shooting a 40 on the front and a 45 on the back. Blunk had five pars on the front 9 and two pars on the back.  Wyatt Ragaller shot an 86 with a 44 on the front and a 42 on the back. Ragaller had three pars on the front and a birdie and a par on the back 9.  Zach Bird added a 90, going 44 on the front and a 46 on the back. He added three pars on the front a birdie and a par on the back.  Will Schultes finished with a 92 for the Tigers. He shot 48 on the front 9 and 44 on the back 9. Schultes had a pair of pars on the front with a birdie and a par on the back.

East Sac At Willow Valley- Class 2A 

East Sac had three golfers shot 91 and under, finishing in 6th place with a 369. Unity Christian won the Sectional with a 323 and Western Christian added a 331, taking 2nd place, advancing both to the District Meet at Landsmeer on Monday. Sam Julin led the Raiders with a 88, followed by Jack Gullett with a 90 and Bradyn Burns with a 91. Zach Jacobsen added a 100 for the Raiders.

Coon Rapids Bayard and IKM-Manning At Lakeside Golf Club- Class 1A

Coon Rapids Bayard advances to the District at Willow Creek on Monday, taking 2nd place with a 337, edging past the host school St Edmond, which shot a 340. West Fork joins Coon Rapids Bayard at the District, winning the Sectional with  a 325. IKM-Manning shot well, finishing in 6th place with a 381. The Crusaders has all six players shoot 92 or under with their top four scores 88 and under. IKM-Manning had three guys shot in the 90’s with their fourth score at 101. Sage Suntken of West Fork was the Sectional champ with a 75 with Jack McElroy of St Edmond took 2nd place with a 76. Max Shirbroun of Coon Rapids Bayard was in the hunt, taking 3rd place with a 79.

The Crusaders were led by Shirbroun with his 79 along with an 82 from Logan Kenyon and 88’s from both Gavin Heiderscheit and Cole Cretsinger. Max Shirbroun shot a 42 on the front and a 37 on the back, picking up five pars on the front 9 and two birdies and four pars on the back. Kenyon had a 41 on both the front and back. He pared six holes on the front and 5 pars on the back 9. Heiderscheit had a 45 on the front and a 43 on the back 9. He pared three holes on the front 9 and had five pars on the back. Cole Cretsinger shot a 46 on the front with a 42 on the back with 2 pars on the front and six pars on the back.

Josh Walker led IKM-Manning with a 91, shooting a 41 on the front and a 50 on the back 9. Walker had four pars on the front with two parts on the back.  Miles Nuzback finishing with a 92, going 43 on the front and a 49 on the back 9. Nuzback had four pars on the front and one par on the back.  Ashton Ahrenholtz added a 97 for the Wolves, going 45 on the front and 52 on the back. He had three pars on the front and had a birdie on the back. Karsyn Lorenzen finished with a 101, going 48 on the front 9 and 53 on the back 9. Lorenzen had two pars on the front 9 and one par on the back 9.

Audubon At Fremont County Golf Course- Class 1A

Audubon was the third area team to advance to the District meet as they will head to Crestwood Hills on Monday. The Wheelers finished 3rd but Sidney the host school won the Sectional which moves the Wheelers into the District meet. The Wheelers had all four players in the 80’s with their other two scores in the 90’s and low 100’s. Audubon shot a 344, one stroke behind East Mills with a 343. Sidney shot a 332, finishing 1st place. Keith Thompson of Hamburg was the Medalist, advancing as an individual with a 68. Hayden Thompson shot a 77 and was in 2nd place. Cooper Marvel of Fremont Mills was the other individual qualifier, shooting a 80, taking 5th.

Oliver Deist led the Wheelers in 6th place with an 82, shooting a 43 on the front and a 39 on the back 9. Deist had a birdie on the front along with a par. He added six pars on the back 9. Henry Burr was 8th and shot an 85 with a 40 on the front and a 45 on the back. He finished in 8th place with  a birdie and three pars on the front 9. He added 3 pars on the back 9. Edward Miller shot an 88, going 42 on the front and 46 on the back. Miller had four pars on the front, finishing in 12th place. Ryan Hermansen finished with a 89, taking 13th place. He shot a 43 on the front and a 46 on the back with three pars on the front and two pars on the back.
