Boys Tennis Results For Monday, April 29th
Kuemper at Hawkeye Ten Conference Meet
The Kuemper Knights wrap up a second-place finish at the Hawkeye Ten Conference meet Monday, falling short of Shenandoah. Kuemper picked up a team score of 26. Shenandoah finished in first with 27 team points. In number one singles, Mason Reicks finished fourth for the Knights. Reicks picked up an 8-0 win over Owen Galvin of Denison-Schleswig in the opening round. Reicks would go on to lose 8-3 to Andrew Lawrence of Shenandoah and 9-8 to Kayden Anderson of Glenwood to finish fourth. In number one doubles Josh Langle and Jake Hausman finished in third place. Langle and Hausman won their opening round 8-4 before losing in the second round. In the third round, they picked up a win over Red Oak 8-4 to walk away with a third-place finish.
In number two singles, Hans Kraus finished in second. Kraus picked up a win over Darren Warren of Lewis Central 8-1 in the opening round. Kraus followed up the win with another one in the second round, 8-5, over Teagan Brunk of Shenandoah. In the championship match, Kraus would end up losing 8-5 over Will Getter of Glenwood. Max Reincke and Carter Running competed in number two doubles for the Knights. Reincke and Running would go on to win number two doubles. They opened up with a close 8-5 victory, then followed it up with an 8-1 win. In the championship match, Running and Reincke went on to win 8-5, clinching a conference title in doubles.
