Kuemper At Boone Tournament
Megan Kies found Kalie Hausman for what turned out to be a game winning goal as the Knights knocked off West Central Valley in the opening round of the Boone Tournament on Saturday. Kuemper finished the game with 13 shots on goal, led by Cierra Pudenz with 8 shots. Hausman took advantage of her attempts making 1 of the 2 shots she took and Lauren Boell added a pair of shots. Addy Anthofer was strong in goal, making 3 saves as the Wildcats took 5 shots, 3 of them in the 1st half.
Kuemper squared off with Boone for the Championship, earning a 2-1 win. They scored a pair of goals in the 1st half, getting a goal from both Cierra Pudenz and Kalie Hausman. Frannie Glynn and Taylor Boell assisted on the goals. Boone scored in the 2nd half but the Knights held on with a strong day defensively. Addy Anthofer had 8 saves on 9 shots by Boone. The Knights finished with 14 shots on goal, led by Cierra Pudenz with 6 shots, Kalie Hausman added 4 shots on goal and Clare Janson with 2 shots on goal.
The wins move Kuemper to 6-5 on the season as they head to Denison Schleswig on Monday.
