The Carroll Tigers picked up an exciting win over East Sac County Thursday that had to go to penalty kicks to decide a winner. Both defenses played outstanding all game. On the flip side, both offenses also had opportunities to score but could not execute. Luke Wernimont and Tanner Heithoff faced tough shots in goal all night as they made play after play for their respective teams. At the end of regulation, the game was tied 0-0 and sent it to a winner-take-all overtime. The match remained tied following both overtimes, sending the game to penalty kicks. Carroll made three of four PKs, while ESC made one. Heithoff finished with 11 saves in goal for the Tigers, while Wernimont recorded 10 for ESC. As a team, Carroll recorded 19 shots compared to East Sac County’s 13. With the win, Carroll improves to 3-7 on the season. The loss drops East Sac County to 3-3 on the season. The Raiders are back in action on Friday against Kuemper. The Tigers return to the pitch on Tuesday against Gilbert.
