Carroll At Jim Duncan Invitational At Drake
Carroll had an outstanding day with four top 8 finishes and 11 personal best, including a new school record. The Tigers improved in nearly every event. Things started early for Carroll with Tahlia Hahn setting a new personal best in the 3000 Meters, she ran a 14:58.16. The throwers kept the momentum going with Emma Kuhlmann winning the Shot Put by nearly two feet. She launched a 38-03.00 on her fourth throw to capture the crown. That throw was a personal best for her. Olivia Rowedder added another strong performance in the Discus, throwing her personal best of 115-08 on her first throw and placing 6th. The Shuttle Hurdle team made it two running events in a row to set a personal best as Katelyn Aden, Averi Burke, Autumn Fortner and Abby Neppel ran a 1:12.94. The Distance Medley team made it back-to-back relays to set a new personal best. Hannah Andersen, Autumn Fortner, Averi Burke and Katelyn Aden ran a 4:36.69.
Marie Dea continues her outstanding career, taking 2nd place in the 400 Meters with a personal best run in 57.66. The 4×200 kept the strong day going running a personal best 1:56.47 with Marasyn Wittrock, Hannah Andersen, Averi Burke and Brenna Goins. Autumn Fortner had back-to-back hurdle races where she set a new personal best, going 17.41 in the 100 Hurdles and 1:15.74 in the 400 Hurdles. Brenna Goins, Hannah Andersen, Libby Perkins and Marasyn Wittrock ran a personal best 53.88 in the 4×100. The 4×400 closed out the outstanding day with a New School Record of 4:04.05 with Katelyn Aden, Averi Burke, Marasyn Wittrock and Marie Dea. They finished in 3rd place.
Carroll heads to Greene County on Monday.
