Top girls returning this season
Carroll will be led this year by Marie Dea, who is coming off a tremendous junior season. She has a chance to break several more school records this season and will be one of Class 3A’s best runners in the 400 Meters and 800 Meters and will make any relay team she runs on a threat at State. Dea finished 4th last season in the 800 Meters at State.
Chloe Judisch will be an elite runner for the Titans this season and will head up a talented group that returns. She will be one of the top 800 runners in Class 2A this season after finishing 9th last season at the State Meet. She will be strong as well in the 400 Meters, if she enters the event. Judisch will help make any relay she runs in a contender to qualify for the State Meet. Her strength is one of her keys along with running smart races.
Ellie Sibbel is the top returner for the Knights. Sibbel will be one of the top throwers in the area this season, with the Shot Put her best event. Last season she ranked 9th in Class 2A in the Shot and was ranked 21st in the Discus.
Mattie Nielsen and Michelle Brooks give the Wheelers two outstanding relay runners with Nielsen having had success in individual events in past seasons. She was a part of five of the team’s most successful relays last season. Brooks also had an outstanding season in relays a season ago, competing in four of their top relays. Audubon will have nice depth for relays this season.
The Wolves will be deep with kids that will be strong in relays this season. It will be intriguing to follow the growth of Raegan Garrison who is coming off a tremendous season in Cross Country this fall. She could have a great spring in the distance races or any relays.
