Kuemper used a 25-0 run in the 1st and 2nd quarter to take control of the game as they advance into the Regional Quarterfinals with a dominant win. The Raiders had an early 3-0 lead but struggled to make shots and had several turnovers in the halfcourt against the Knights early. Kuemper maintained the lead around 20-points most of the 1st half and got up by as many as 30 early in the 4th quarter. East Sac settled down and played well over the final three quarters, but found themselves down 19-3 at the end of the 1st quarter and 25-3 before Addisen Ehler hit a free throw midway through the 2nd quarter. Elsa Tiefenthaler had 12-points in the 1st half for the Knights while Lauren Boell added 8-points and 5 rebounds. Addisen Ehler had 6-points and 5 rebounds for East Sac at half.

Sarah Bontrager drained a three from the corner, giving East Sac a 3-0 lead. Kuemper hit their first- six free throws to build a 10-3 lead. Frannie Glynn put the Knights up for good at 4-3 with Lauren Boell extended it to 6-3 and Elsa Tiefenthaler making it 8-3. Boell added another pair of free throws and the Knights were off and running. Charlotte Hackfort hit the first of her four-threes as the Knights went up 32-14 at half. The Knights lead hovered around 18-24 most of the 3rd with Kuemper extending the lead in the final few minutes, going up 50-23 going into the 4th quarter. The final three from Charlotte Hackfort gave Kuemper a 53-23 lead early in the 4th quarter before the Raiders fought back with Makenna Steiger hitting a few threes and Kendall Quirk scoring inside.

Elsa Tiefenthaler led the Knights with 18-points to go with 5 steals. Charlotte Hackfort added 12 points on 4-3’s and Lauren Boell had 11-points with 7 rebounds. Kaylie Simons dished out 5 assists and Frannie Glynn had 6 rebounds.

Kendall Quirk had 10-points with 8 rebounds for East Sac with Addisen Ehler having 8-points and 10 rebounds along with 3 assists. Makenna Steiger finished with 9-points and Anna McCollough pulled down 5 rebounds while Sarah Bontrager scored 6-points.

The Knights move to 9-12 on the season and will head to Sioux Central on Tuesday on KIKD 106.7. East Sac ends their season at 8-14.

Both teams struggled on offense early in the game as the defenses were sharp. The Titans found themselves down 8-2 at the end of the 1st quarter. South Central Calhoun made just one field goal in the 1st half as they trailed 16-7 but they were able to knock down 6 free throws and held Belmond Klemme to 16-points, keeping themselves in the game. Blair Schleisman was fouled shooting a three in the 2nd quarter and hit all three free throws. Schleisman had 5 of the teams 7-points at half. Belmond Klemme extended their lead to 32-15 after three quarters and held on as the Titans tried to rally in the final stanza.

Blair Schleisman and Bre Patterson paced the Titans with 7-points each while Adlen Wheelock had 4-points and Brenna McAlister and Sadie Wheelock both had 3-points.

The Titans finish the season 7-15.
