Coon Rapids Bayard shot the ball very well in the 1st quarter with Aubrey Hofbauer, Ella Heithoff and Ashtyn Klocke knocking down shots. Paton Churdan did a nice job handling the Crusaders press, getting good looks and getting a few buckets from Kaliyah Minnehan, Grace Cullum and Alivya Smith but they struggled overall from the field, falling behind 23-6 at the end of the 1st quarter. Both offenses struggled to make shots in the 2nd quarter with Coon Rapids Bayard scoring the 8-points of the quarter, building a 31-6 lead and leading 33-8 at half.

Aubrey Hofbauer hit an early three and two, followed by a three from Ashtyn Klocke that gave Coon Rapids Bayard an 11-0 lead. Kaliyah Minnehan scored for Paton Churdan but Aubrey Hofbauer responded with a bucket to push the lead to 13-2. Grace Cullum knocked down a jumper for the Rockets but Ella Heithoff hit back-to-back baskets for Coon Rapids Bayard. Alivya Smith scored to pull the Rockets within 17-6 but Hofbauer, Heithoff and Klocke all scored again and Coon Rapids Bayard led 23-6 at the end of the 1st quarter. Malia Clayburg dominated the 2nd quarter for the Crusaders with five straight points, pushing the lead to 38-6, then scored again, making it 31-6. The Crusders were up 33-8 at half. They pushed the game into continuous clock right before the end of the 3rd quarter on a bucket from Lauren Cook.

Aubrey Hofbauer paced the Crusaders with 11-points with Malia Clayburg adding 9-points, 8 rebounds and 5 steals. Ella Heithoff finished with 8-points and 3 steals with Ashtyn Klocke with 5-points and 4 assists.

Grace Cullum led Paton Churdan with  4-points with Alivya Smith, Kaliyah Minnehan and Ella Tasler all scoring 2-points. Smith had a team high 6 rebounds with Ava Minnehan, Kaliyah Minnehan and Ella Tasler all added 4 rebounds. Tasler had a team high 2 steals.

Coon Rapids Bayard improves to 18-3 overall while Paton Churdan ends the season at 0-21. The Crusaders will host GMG, who beat Belle Blaine 44-19 on Thursday.

The Glidden-Ralston Wildcats season ends Thursday with a loss at home to St. Edmond. The game started slow as both teams struggled on offense. Glidden-Ralston never held a lead, and the game was never tied. The Wildcats only hit one shot from the floor in the first quarter as St. Edmond jumped out to a 21-8 lead going to the second. Glidden-Ralston would cut it down to 11 points early in the second quarter but would trail 36-17 at the half. St. Edmond’s defense was strong in the third quarter and held Glidden-Ralston scoreless for the first 6 minutes of the quarter. Running lock was on halfway through the third quarter. Glidden-Ralston went on to lose 67-30.

Only four Glidden-Ralston players scored in the game Thursday. Tiela Janssen was the Wildcats leading scorer with 16 points. Brileigh Bock chipped in 8 points for Glidden-Ralston. Six of Bock’s points came from the free-throw line. With the loss, Glidden-Ralston’s season comes to an end at 5-17.

IKM-Manning battled hard, nearly advancing into the 2nd round with a game that was tight all game long. The game had four lead changes and was tied four times in the 1st quarter, ending the quarter tied at 14. The 2nd quarter was similar with three more lead changes and three more ties. The Wolves fell down 25-17 in the 2nd but rallied with a 11-3 run. The game was tied at 28 at half with Anna Stangl pacing the Wolves with 10-points. Collins Maxwell separated slightly in the 3rd, going up 41-37. The Wolves fought back, taking a lead with around a minute to go on a steal from Taylor Beckendorf, who fed Anna Stangl for a layup and the Wolves led 48-47. Collins Maxwell answered, going up by 1 with under 0:35 remaining. The Wolves didn’t score and had to foul. The Spartans hit 1 of 2 free throws to lead by 2. IKM-Manning had a chance to tie the game but was called for a charge on a bang-bang play. giving the ball back to Collins Maxwell. They hit a pair of free throws to seal the game. The Wolves defense made nice adjustments at half, with Chloe Wierson scoring 18-points in the 1st half, but being held to 7-points in the 2nd half.

Taylor Beckendorf had a huge game with 15-points, 12 rebounds and 7 steals. Anna Stangl added 18-points, 5 rebounds and 6 steals. Emma Reginato pulled down 7 rebounds with 4 assists and Abby Nieheisel had 6-points and 5 rebounds.

The loss ends the Wolves season at 4-18.

Ar-We-Va struggled on offense early, falling behind 30-5 at the end of the 1st quarter. Delaney Schurke heated up in the 2nd, knocking down some shots from the outside. The Rockets scored 9-points in the quarter but trailed 46-14 at half. Their best quarter was the final stanza, scoring 8-points while holding West Bend Mallard to 3-points.

Delaney Schurke paced the Rockets with 15-points to go with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Amber Ragaller added 5-points and 5 rebounds and Gabby Hundling had 5 steals while Azaya Martinez and Makayla Schrad both had 4 rebounds.

The Rockets end the season at 4-19.
