Kuemper rallied in the 2nd half against the ranked Cyclones but fell short on Thursday. They trailed 33-20 at half but cut it to five by the end of the 3rd quarter. Kuemper hung close in the 4th quarter thanks to 19-points from Aubrey Heuton and another strong rebounding game from Frannie Glynn. Kuemper struggled from the floor, hitting 34.8% from the field.

Aubrey Heuton had a team high 19-points with Lauren Boell adding 10-points as they had two players in double figures. Glynn had a team high 12 rebounds to go with 7-points. Elsa Tiefenthaler added 7-points along with a team high 4 assists. Boell finished with 8 rebounds.

The loss drops Kuemper to 6-12 overall with a home gane on Friday Vs Shenandoah on KIKD.

Coon Rapids Bayard earned a huge win against a very strong ACGC team on Thursday, improving to 15-3 on the season. The Crusaders defense shinned again and they were able to get just enough offense to hold off the Chargers rally. They held ACGC to 2-points in the 1st quarter and 7-points in the 1st half. ACGC scored 5 more points in the 3rd quarter as Coon Rapids Bayard built a 23-12 lead. Coon Rapids Bayard was outscored by 7-points in the final stanza but held on for the win.

Breeley Clayburg paced the Crusaders with 14-points and 10 rebounds along with 4 steals. Malia Clayburg added 8 rebounds while also making 7 steals and blocking 3 shots. Anna Hart finished with 5 assists and 4 steals. Lydia Hofbauer poured in 6-points.

The Crusaders sit 15-3 on the season heading into Friday’s home game with Boyer Valley.

Ar-We-Va struggled on offense on the road on Thursday, scoring 3-points in both the 1st and 3rd quarters and 6-points in the 2nd quarter. The defense played well most of the game, giving up  one big scoring quarter in the 2nd when the Panthers scored 26-points. Ar-We-Va did have six different girls score with Amber Ragaller leading the way with 6-points to go with 7 rebounds. Gabby Hundling added 4-points and 6 rebounds with Delaney Schurke with 4 rebounds and 3-points. Mollie Leiting and Karime Sanchez also scored 3-points each.

The loss drops the Rockets to 3-17 on the season. They host Glidden Ralston on Friday.

The Wolves were clicking on the offensive from the get-go on Thursday, scoring 24-points in the 1st quarter. They led 24-15 going into the 2nd quarter, then widened the gap by half. IKM-Manning was up 42-24 at half and cruised into the 4th quarter when Boyer Valley closed the gap, making the final score closer than it was. IKM-Manning was up 57-30 entering the 4th quarter.

Anna Stangl had another strong game, leading the Wolves with 20-points, followed by 14-points from Mckenna Benton and 12-points from Taylor Beckendorf.

The Wolves improved to 3-16 on the season and will host LoMa on Friday.

Glidden Ralston was unlucky on Thursday, having led most of the game, they couldn’t get shots to fall in key situations in the 4th quarter while Madrid hit timely 3’s. The Wildcats built a 13-11 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and led 19-18 at half. They were balanced in scoring with four girls between 7-10-points. They trailed by 1 heading into the final stanza when Madrid was able to stretch the lead with key baskets.

Allison Snyder had a team high 10-points with Kassidy Wenck and Brileigh Bock both having 9-points and Tiela Janssen finishing with 7-points.

The Wildcats slip to 4-14 overall as they head to Ar-We-Va on Friday.

Paton Churdan fought back in the 2nd half, falling short after a nice rally in the 3rd quarter. They struggled offensively in the 1st half, scoring 2-points in the 1st quarter and 3-points in the 2nd quarter but played well enough on defense to trail 15-5 at half. The offense got going behind Kaliyah Minnehan and Alivya Smith who combined for 23 of the teams 27-points. They outscored Colo-Nesco 13-7 in the 3rd quarter and trailed by 4-points to begin the final stanza.

Alivya Smith led the Rockets with 12-points and Kaliyan Minnehan added 11-points.

The loss drops the Rockets to 0-17 overall. They travel to Orient Macksburg on Friday.
