The East Sac County Raiders struggled to shoot Tuesday night on the road against Pocahontas Area. The Raiders shot under 25 percent from the floor in the loss. The first quarter was a defensive quarter. The Raiders were held to only six points as they would trail 11-6 going to the second quarter. PAC’s offense picked up in the second quarter, scoring 18 points. ESC trailed 29-15 at the half. The second half was the offense struggle for the Raiders as they only managed eight points. ESC scored seven in the third quarter and one in the fourth. Pocahontas Area went on to beat ESC 46-23.
Addisen Ehler scored a team-high seven points. Kendall Quirk and Ehler both pulled down 12 rebounds each. Sarah Bontrager was the second-leading scorer with six points. With the loss, ESC falls to 7-12 on the season and 4-6 in the Twin Lakes Conference. The Raiders are back in action against Southeast Valley on Friday.

Carroll used a dominating defense performance, getting enough offense to pull away in the 4th quarter to win their second straight game. Carroll never trailed and led by as many as 12 late in the 1st half. Chloe Kock ignited Carroll early with six quick points, followed by four straight free throws from Katelyn Aden to put Carroll up 12-2. early in the 2nd quarter. Mollie Feld was terrific on defense, finishing with 4 steals. Her defensive pressure gave Carroll a chance to get out and run, getting easy baskets. Bondurant Farrar used a 4-0 run to pull within 12-6 early in the 2nd quarter but Olivia Rowedder stopped the momentum, followed by another Chloe Kock basket. A three from Katelyn Aden stretched the Carroll lead to 21-9 but Bondurant Farrar cut it to 21-11 at half.
Bondurant Farrar scored 4 in a row to start the 2nd half, pulling within 21-15 but a three from Sophia Tidgren gave Carroll the momentum back, up 25-15. Olivia Rowedder made it 27-15 but the Bluejays cut it to 27-22 at the end of the 3rd quarter, ending the quarter on a 7-0 run. Olivia Rowedder scored to put Carroll up 29-22 early in the 4th quarter, then Ali Kock stretched it to 32-22. CArroll never looked back and pulled away, outscoring the Bluejays 8-2 in the final stanza.
Chloe Kock paced Carroll with 10-points with Katelyn Aden added 8-points, 9 rebounds and 5 steals. Olivia Rowedder had 6-points and 10 rebounds while Mollie Feld had 4 steals. Carly Menken finished with 7 rebounds and Ali Kock had 5 rebounds.
Carroll improves to 8-7 overall and 6-6 in the Raccoon River Conference, having won 2 straight. They head to Boone on Friday.

The South Central Calhoun Titans drop a close game at home Tuesday night to Southeast Valley. The fourth quarter was the difference in the game as it was back and forth. The Titans shot 22 percent from the field during the game. The Titans would trail at the end of the first quarter 12-11. Both teams picked up the pace offensively in the second quarter. Both teams scored 14 points in the quarter, but SCC trailed 26-25 at the half. The Titans would take a lead going into the fourth quarter. In the third quarter, SCC outscored Southeast Valley 10-8 to take a 35-34. In the fourth quarter, SCC saw its lead slip away. The Titans were outscored 14-9 in the quarter. SCC would go on to lose 48-44.
SCC’s leading scorer was Bre Patterson, who scored 14 points. Patterson was also perfect from the free-throw line, going 10-10. Patterson also pulled down a team-high ten rebounds. Mia Babcock was the Titan’s second-leading scorer with nine points. Adlen Wheelock and Brenna McAlister also chipped in eight points each for SCC.
The loss drops SCC to 5-13 on the season and 2-8 in the Twin Lakes Conference. The Titans are back in action on Friday against Manson Northwest Webster.

The offense was hard to come by for Ar-We-Va in the second quarter, as they only managed two points. The Rockets would trail at the half 34-13. Ar-We-Va managed nine points in the third quarter as Boyer Valley extended its lead. The Rockets would go on to lose 63-34. Gabrielle Hundling was the Rockets leading scorer with ten points. Delaney Schurke chipped in nine points for Ar-We-Va. The loss drops Ar-We-Va to 3-16 and 2-12 in the Rolling Valley Conference. The Rockets are back in action on Thursday against Logan-Magnolia.

The Coon Rapids-Bayard Crusaders pick up a ranked win on the road on a last-second basket Tuesday night. The Crusaders almost let a fourth-quarter lead slip away. CRB jumped out to an 11-6 lead at the end of the first quarter. Defense has been the name of the game all year long for the Crusaders, and that continued Tuesday. Coon Rapids-Bayard would lead 22-18 at the half. The CRB lead extended in the third quarter. The Crusader’s 14 points on offense was CRB’s highest-scoring quarter on the night. The Crusaders’ lead grew to nine at 34-25 going to the fourth quarter. Woodbine came back and took a 39-36 lead late in the fourth quarter. Ella Heithoff hit a three to tie the game at 39-39 with a minute left. CRB had the game’s final possession and worked the ball down low to Breeley Clayburg. Clayburg missed her shot at the rim but pulled down the offensive rebound, and the put-back went in at the buzzer as CRB walked away with a 41-39 win.
Breeley Clayburg was the Crusaders leading scorer with 15 points. Clayburg also pulled down a team-high 14 rebounds. Malia Clayburg was CRB’s second-leading scorer with ten points. Aubrey Hofbaurer chipped in eight points for the Crusaders. As a team, the Crusaders pulled down 27 rebounds.
With the win, CRB improves to 14-3 on the season and 11-3 in the Rolling Valley Conference. The Crusaders are back in action on Thursday against ACGC.

The Wildcats would trail 25-13 going to the second quarter. CAM’s lead would grow going into the halftime at 51-22. The offensive struggles continued in the second half. The Wildcats only scored four points in the second half and went on to lose 70-26. Despite the team’s struggles, Tiela Janssen was the team’s leading scorer with 18 points. The loss drops Glidden-Ralston to 4-13 on the season and 3-10 in the Rolling Valley. The Wildcats are back in action on Thursday against Madrid.

The Wolves lead grew in the second quarter as IKM-Manning scored 13 points. The Wolves would lead 23-15 at the half. Missouri Valley’s offense picked up in the second half. IKM-Manning was outscored 15-13 in the third quarter but still led 38-30 going to the fourth. The fourth quarter slipped away from the Wolves as they were outscored by 15 points. Missouri Valley scored 25 points. IKM-Manning only managed ten points and went on to lose 55-46.
Only four Wolves players scored in the game. Anna Stangl scored a team-high 21 points. McKenna Benton was the team’s second-leading scorer with ten points. Taylor Beckendorf chipped in nine points. IKM-Manning turned the ball over 22 times in Tuesday’s loss. Beckendorf pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds. As a team, the Wolves recorded 28 rebounds.
The loss drops IKM-Manning to 2-16 on the season and 1-12 in conference play. The Wolves are back in action against Boyer Valley on Thursday.
