Kuemper played well on defense though Lewis Central had one girl shoot the ball well from deep with Lucy Scott hitting 10-18 and the rest of the Titans going 1-9 from deep. They held a ranked Titans team to 41-points, giving themselves a chance into the 4th quarter. The offense struggled, shooting 27.8% from the field and 4-15 from three. The Knights built a 10-9 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and trailed 21-19 at half. They were down 3 heading into the 4th quarter before scoring just 3-points in the final stanza.

Elsa Tiefenthaler had a team high 11-points, with Lauren Boell finishing with 9-points and Aubrey Heuton adding 7-points. Frannie Glynn was strong on the glass with 11 rebounds with Lauren Boell adding 6 rebounds and Karsyn Overmohle having 5 rebounds. Frannie Glynn had a team high 3 assists with Aubrey Heuton having a team high 3 steals.

The loss drops Kuemper to 5-10 overall and 3-5 in the Hawkeye 10 Conference. They host Coon Rapids Bayard on KIKD 106.7 on Saturday.

Carroll rebounded from a tough start on both ends, falling behind 15-7 at the end of the 1st quarter to pull within 28-23 at half. They were down 6 going into the 4th quarter before rallying to take a 1-point lead with 3:00 left. Ballard was able to hit free throws down the stretch, edging away for a 7-point win, evening the season series at 1-1. Carroll hit just 18-56 from the field and went 2-14 from beyond the arc.

Olivia Rowedder had a team high 12-points and 9 rebounds to go with 4 steals. Katelyn Aden added 9-points and 3 steals. Carly Menken added 8-points with Chloe Kock haivng 6-points.

Carroll falls to 6-7 overall and 4-6 in the Raccoon River Conference. They host ADM on Monday.

The Wildcats struggled on the offensive end, falling to Boyer Valley at home. They had a solid game defensively, holding the Bulldogs to 45-points with Boyer Valley not scoring more than 12-points in any quarter. Tiela Janssen had a team high 8-points with Allison Snyder adding 8-points but no other Wildcats had more than 2-points. They trailed 22-13 at half and were down only 33-21 heading into the 4th quarter.

The loss drops the Wildcats to 4-10 overall and 3-9 in the Rolling Valley Conference. They head to Ogden on Saturday.

The East Sac County Raiders ran into a good Sioux Central team at home Friday night. In the first quarter, Sioux Central came out on fire. The Raiders found themselves down 14-0 and called a timeout. After the timeout, ESC closed the quarter on a 7-2 run. East Sac County found themselves down 16-7 going to the second quarter. The Raiders defense stepped up in the second quarter and held Sioux Central to 13 points. ESC would be down 29-12 at the half. Sioux Central is an excellent three-point shooting team, and the Raiders only held them to eight total in the game. Both teams’ highest-scoring quarter was the third. Sioux Central outscored the Raiders 27-9 in the third quarter to blow the game open. ESC would go on to lose 70-24.

Makenna Steiger was the Raiders leading scorer with ten points. Kendall Quirk and Addisen Ehler have been excellent on the offensive and defensive glass for ESC this season. They combined for 17 of the team’s 29 rebounds. Ehler pulled down a team-high ten rebounds.

With the loss, the Raiders fell to 6-11 on the season. East Sac County is back in action on Saturday against GTRA.

Gabby Hundling and Delaney Schurke led the Ar-We-Va Rockets with 6-points each as they fall to 10th ranked Woodbine on Friday. The Rockets played well in the 1st quarter for a second straight night against a ranked team but saw the game slip away with a tough quarter. They trailed 18-7 at the end of the 1st quarter but were outscored 22-0 in the 3rd quarter as the Tigers put the game out of reach.

Amber Ragaller added 4-points and Azaya Martinez had 3-points in the loss. Amber Ragaller and Makayla Schrad both had a team high 4 rebounds with Delaney Schurke, Azaya Martinez and Karime Sanchez all had 3 rebounds.

The loss drops Ar-We-Va to 2-14 overall and 2-10 in the Rolling Valley Conference. The Rockets have their third game in three days as they play at Storm Lake St Mary’s on KKRL on Saturday.

Aliya Smith scored all 18-points for Paton Churdan as they fall to 0-15 on the seasn and 0-9 in the Rolling Valley Conference. The Rockets trailed 14-9 at the end of the 1st quarter but fell down 30-14 by half. The game slipped further away in the final stanza with the Rockets scoring 2-points in each quarter.

The Rockets will host Exira-EHK on Tuesday.

IKM-Manning played well early forcing a few turnovers and holding the Cardinals to one shot. The Wolves struggled on the offensive end in the 2nd quarter and Treynor was able to transition from offense to defense quickly, getting layups to begin pulling away. The Cardinals outscored IKM-Manning 23-8 in the 2nd quarter, building a 41-18 lead at half. The Wolves came out with energy in the 3rd quarter chipping into the deficit. Treynor took control in the 4th, pushing the game into continuous clock with a little over 5:00 remaining.

Anna Stangl paced the Wolves with 13-points to go with 5 rebounds. Taylor Beckendorf added 8-points. Emma Reginato finished with 4 rebounds.

The loss drops IKM-Manning to 2-14 overall and 1-10 in the WIC. They host Riverside on Monday.

The Titans offense struggled against 2nd ranked Newell Fonda, falling behind 23-2 at the end of the 1st quarter. They finished the game shooting 17.5% overall and 2-12 from beyond the arc. The Titans compounded their shooting with 32 turnovers against the Mustangs pressing and attacking defense. They did shoot the ball well from the free throw line, going 4-5.

Sadie Wheelock paced the offensive attack with 6-points to go with 8 rebounds. Adlen Wheelock had 5-points and Mia Babcock had 4-points. Bre Patterson added 4 rebounds.

The Titans fall to 5-11 overall and 2-7 in the Twin Lakes Conference. They travel to Humboldt on Monday.
