Carroll fell on the road against the 12th ranked Wildcats, playing well through three quarters. The Tigers trailed 36-34 entering the 4th quarter but struggled to get shots to fall and Macy Comito hit free throws, finishing with 10 made for the game. Carroll battled hard early, trailing 9-7 at the end of the 1st quarter and down 22-18 at half. Sophia Tidgren knocked down a pair of big 3’s to keep the Tigers in striking distance and Carroll was able to outscore the Wildcats 16-14 in the 3rd quarter.
Katelyn Aden had a team high 11-points along with 5 assists and Chloe Kock finished with 10-points and 5 rebounds. Sophia Tidgren added 7-points and Oliva Rowedder had 7-points and 5 rebounds.
The loss drops Carroll to 6-5 overall and 4-4 in the Raccoon River Conference. They host ADM on Tuesday.

The Kuemper Knights struggled on offense as they lost at home Friday night to Atlantic. The game started back and forth, with both teams taking the lead in the first quarter. Kuemper struggled with turnovers, which led to the Atlantic win. Elsa Tiefentahler hit a big three-point shot in the first quarter to keep the game close, but Kuemper would find themselves down 14-9 going into the second quarter. The Knights only managed seven points in the second quarter and would trail 25-16 at the half.
Kuemper never held the lead in the second half but would cut into the Atlantic lead multiple times. The Knights best quarter offensively was the third quarter. They scored 15 points, and outscored Atlantic in the quarter. Kuemper cut the lead to 30-28 but trailed 39-31 going to the fourth quarter. Atlantic would hit some big threes in the fourth quarter, extend their lead to double digits, and go on to win 55-44.
Elsa Tiefenthaler was Kuemper’s leading scorer with 15 points. Tiefenthaler got hurt late in the first half and didn’t play much in the second half. Lauren Boell and Aubrey Heuton each recorded seven points for the Knights. All seven of Boell’s points came in the fourth quarter. Kaylie Simons was excellent off the bench for Kuemper, finishing with a team-high five steals.
With the loss, Kuemper falls to 3-7 on the season and 2-3 in the Hawkeye Ten. The Knights are back in action against East Sac County on Saturday.

Coon Rapids Bayard won their second straight, earning a win on the road as Glidden Ralston their second straight loss to a ranked team. The Crusaders were able to start quickly, leading 14-5 at the end of the 1st quarter. Their defensive pressure led to some easy buckets as they finished with 20 steals. Coon Rapids Bayard built on their lead in the 2nd quarter but the Wildcats began to find more success offensively.
Coon Rapids Bayard came out in the 2nd half and extended their lead, going up 44-23 at the end of the 3rd quarter.
Malia Clayburg paced the Crusaders offense with 18-points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals, Anna Hart added 10-points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 8 steals while Breeley Clayburg finished with 8-points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Ashtyn Klocke had her best game of the season with 8-pionts and Lydia Hofbauer finished with 6-points and 4 assists. Ella Heithoff added 5 rebounds.
The Wildcats had three girls nearly in double figures with Tiela Janssen leading the way with 10-points and 5 rebounds, Kassidy Wenck had 8-points and 9 rebounds and Allison Snyder finished with 9-points. Amelia Garrett added 6 rebounds.
Coon Rapids Bayard improves to 7-2 overall and 6-2 in the Rolling Valley. They will travel to Ar-We-Va on Tuesday. Glidden Ralston slips to 4-6 overall and 3-5 in the Rolling Valley and will host West Harrison Tuesday.

Paton Churdan will be back in action on Tuesday when they host Boyer Valley.

It was a tough shooting night for East Sac as they played their first game after the holiday break. The Raiders hit 22.7% from the field and made only one of nine attempts from three. They didn’t score in double figures in any quarter, getting 9 in the 2nd quarter to trail 23-13. The defense played well, holding Emmetsburg to 42-points, allowing 10-points in both the 2nd and 3rd quarters and 9 in the final stanza.
Addisen Ehler and Kendall Quirk both had solid nights on the boards with Quirk grabbing 12 rebounds to go with 4-points while Ehler nearly had a double-double, scoring 8-points while pulling down 10 rebounds. Makenna Steiger led the Raiders in scoring with 9-points and 3 assists. Jen Ashinger had 2 of the teams 4 steals.
The Raiders fall to 4-6 on the season and will host Kuemper Catholic on Saturday at 4:00 on KIKD 106.7.

Ar-We-Va played one of their best games of the season, trailing the 9th ranked Cougars by 13-points in the 2nd half but struggles on the offense end in the bookend quarters was too much for them to overcome. The young Rockets continue to improve, playing two strong quarters but are still looking to put a full game together. CAM jumped out to a 18-2 lead at the end of the 1st quarter but Ar-We-Va kept fighting, outscoring them 20-12 in the 3rd quarter and getting within 13-points. CAM pushed the lead back out in the 4th quarter, outscoring the Rockets 18-2.
Gabby Hundling had a team high 10-points with 4 steals while Amber Ragaller added 8-points and 3 steals and Delaney Schurke finished with 7-points and 5 rebounds. Azaya Martinez continues to give the Rockets hustle plays, pulling down 5 rebounds whle making 3 steals. Karime Sanchez had 4 rebounds.
Ar-We-Va slips to 1-9 overall and 1-7 in the Rolling Valley Conference. They host Woodbury Central on Saturday afternoon.

They hit 52.6% of their shots from the field even though they struggled from beyond the arc, making 3-14 attempts. Their defense forced 21 steals, helping them get easy baskets as they built a 16-5 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and a 35-11 lead at half. Six players for South Central Calhoun scored between 6 and 16 points.
Maci Dorman had a team high 16-points to go with 5 steals while Bre Patterson hit a pair of the Titans three’s, finishing with 14-points. Blair Schleisman had 10-points to go with 5 assists and Brenna McAlister added 9-points and 4 steals. Mia Babcock had a solid game with 6-points and 7 rebounds, Adlen Wheelock had 5 steals and Sadie Wheelock finished with 6-points.
The win improves the Titans to 4-7 overall as they head to Humboldt on Tuesday.
