Carroll picks up a big home win over Boone coming out of the winter break Tuesday night. The Tigers played great defense all game long and rebounded the ball well. Carroll and Boone started the game tied at 8-8 after a back-and-forth first quarter. Carroll threw different defenders at Boone’s best player, and it worked. Carroll outscored Boone 12-8 in the second quarter as Katelyn Aden hit a big three late in the quarter to put the Tigers up by four at the half, 20-16. The third quarter was back and forth. Carroll held a double-digit lead in the quarter. The Tigers held a five-point lead going to the final quarter, 30-25. Carroll’s best quarter of the night was the fourth, scoring 18 points and only holding Boone to seven. Carroll would go on to win 48-32.
The Tigers had three girls in double figures. Chloe Kock led Carroll in scoring with 13 points. Olivia Rowedder finished with 11. Ten of Rowedder’s 11 points came in the second half, with six in the fourth quarter. Katelyn Aden was the last Carroll player in double digits with ten points. She scored seven of the ten in the second half. Carly Menken, player excellent off the bench for Carroll, scoring six points and pulling down multiple offensive rebounds.
With the win, Carroll improves to 5-4 on the season and wins their third straight game. The win also improves Carroll’s record to 3-3 in conference play. The Tigers are back in action on Friday at Carlisle.
