IKM-Manning struggled from the field and LoMa hit 7-3’s in the 1st half, jumping out to a 30-10 lead at half as the Wolves dropped their final game on the road heading into the break. The Wolves played hard all game, outscoring the Panthers 8-7 in the final stanza but they shot 22.6% from the field.
Anna Stangl hit a runner in the lane and IKM-Manning went up 2-0 only to not score the rest of the 1st quarter as LoMa scored 22 straight, leading 15-2 at the 2nd of the 1st quarter and 30-10 at half. IKM-Manning was able to establish Abby Nieheisel late in the 2nd quarter and she scored 7 straight for the Wolves with Anna Stangl hitting a free throw for their final point of the half.
LoMa scored 7-points in a row to start the 2nd half, building a 43-14 lead early in the 4th quarter. Anna Stangl hit a pair of free throws and Ali McGinn scored to start a mini-run for the Wolves. Oriah Meiners had a nice game on the boards, helping her score late and Taylor Beckendorf added the Wolves final 2-points.
The loss drops them to 1-9 overall and 1-6 in the Western Iowa Conference. The Wolves are off until January 4th when they host Coon Rapids Bayard.

The Knights hung with the 8th ranked team in Class 2A, trailing by 2-points heading into the 4th quarter. Kuemper shot 40.7% from the field, but were outscored 13-7 at the free throw line. Kuemper had 20 turnovers while getting 7 steals against the Wolverines. They won the rebounding battle, thanks to a big night on the glass from Frannie Glynn. She pulled down 14 rebounds with 8 on the offensive end. Nodaway Valley took the lead early, going up 16-10 at the end of the 1st quarter. The Knights won the next two quarters, pulling within 5 at half and within 2 heading to the final stanza. The Wolverines were able to hit a few free throws down the stretch, holding off the Kuemper run.
Frannie Glynn had a great game with 14 rebounds and 8-points, Elsa Tiefenthaler had 18-points and 5 rebounds. Karsyn Overmohle added 8-points and 5 assists. Aubrey Heuton finished with 10-points and Lauren Boell went for 10-points and 7 rebounds.
The loss drops Kuemper to 3-5 overall as they prepare to head to Kingsley Pierson on KIKD 106.7 on Friday.

The Titans head into the holiday break after snapping a 4-game losing streak while earning their third win of the season. A dominant 2nd quarter gave them a big lead at half, up 33-16. The Titans outscored the Falcons 21-6 to open up a tight game. Bre Patterson and Macie Dorman jump started the offense, helping them shoot 51.3% from the field. Both players went 6-9 from the field with Patterson hitting 3-4 from beyond the arc. The defense had 13 steals and they were able to turn several of those into easy buckets. The Falcons made a push in the 4th quarter but the Titans held strong.
Bre Patterson paced an offensive attack that had two players in double figures with two more just shy of 10-points. Patterson hit 3-3’s, scoring 20-points and pulled down 6 rebounds. Macie Dorman added 16-points. Mia Babcock and Blair Schleisman both had 8-pionts while Brenna McAlister had 5 rebounds and a pair of steals.
The win improves the Titans to 3-7 overall. They are off until January 5th against Storm Lake St Mary’s.

East Sac nearly had their second straight win against Denison Schleswig but saw the game slip away over the final few minutes in a game that went back and forth. The Monarchs looked sharp early, building a 18-10 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. East Sac owned the 2nd quarter, outscoring the Monarchs 13-4, taking a 23-22 lead into the locker room. The Raiders had clamped down on defense and started taking control of the boards behind Addisen Ehler, Kendall Quirk and Sarah Bontrager. They built on the lead in the 3rd quarter, taking a 4-point lead into the final stanza. The Raiders shot 31.9% from the field, with many of those struggles coming in the 4th quarter. They were up 40-38 with 3:30 left on the clock. Kendall Quirk hit a free throw, making it 41-38 but Denison Schleswig cut it to 41-40, then both teams turned the ball over. The Monarchs were able to tie the game with a free throw with 2:11 left in the game. They forced the Raiders into a turnover and scored to go up 43-41. They extended the lead to 44-41 with 2:00 left. Another Monarch bucket moved it to a 46-41 lead with 1:35 left. The Raiders turned the ball over after a timeout and Denison Schleswig scored to make it 48-41. The Raiders had one last chance but couldn’t score and Denison Schleswig ran out the clock to earn the win.
Addisen Ehler had a strong double-double with 14-points and 12 rebounds, Makenna Steiger added 9-points, Sarah Bontrager had 6-points and 7 rebounds and Kendall Quirk finished with 5-points and 7 rebounds.
The loss drops the Raiders to 4-5 heading into the break. They travel to Emmetsburg on January 5th.

The Rockets finished out a stretch to three ranked teams in their final five games before the break, falling to Class 2A #10 MVAOCOU. The Rams started fast, building a 34-1 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and a 62-8 lead at half. The Rockets were able to score 7-points in each of the final three quarters. Delaney Schurke paced them with 8-points along with 3 rebounds. Amber Ragaller had 6-points, Hallie McCollough added 3 rebounds and Gabbie Hundling and Annalee Wittrock each had 2 rebounds.
The loss dropped the Rockets to 1-8 overall. They are back in action on January 5th, when they host CAM.
