Kuemper exploded in the 4th quarter, propelling them to a big road win. The Knights struggled in the middle part of the game, getting outscored 25-18 over the 2nd and 3rd quarters and found themselves down 39-32. Things quickly changed in the 4th quarter as the Knights scored 29-points with Elsa Tiefenthaler leading the way with 31-points. Kuemper finished the night hitting 7-17 from 3 with Tiefenthaler gong 3-6 from beyond the arc, but doing a lot of damage from the free throw line, hitting 10-14. Kuemper had as many steals as turnovers with 15 of each. The defense held Atlantic to 10-38 from the field.

Elsa Tiefenthaler paced the Knights with 31-points with 6 steals, Lauren Boell added 10 rebounds and Frannie Glynn had 8 rebounds with 5 assists. Kaylie Simons had her best game of the season with 9-points with 3 steals.

The win improves Kuemper to 2-3 overall. They are off until Saturday when they travel to Greene County.

Carroll battled back in the 2nd half, falling down by 17-points after struggling in the 2nd quarter. The Tigers came out with some pressure, created turnovers and got a pair of threes, pulling them within 5 but weren’t able to get any closer. Carroll struggled from the floor on Tuesday, hitting only 10 of 50 shots from the field and 3 of 18 from the three point line. Katelyn Aden hit all three of their shots from deep, going 3-9. Carroll made up the difference with a good night at the free throw line, going 13-18. A 14-2 2nd quarter put Carroll in a hole but they fought back, outscoring the Huskies 13-5 in the 3rd.

Katelyn Aden had a team high 18-points with 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 blocks. Olivia Rowedder added 11-points. Carly Menken with 7 rebounds and Ali Kock had 6 rebounds with Chloe Kock added 3 steals.

The loss drops Carroll 2-4 overall and 0-3 in the Raccoon River Conference. The Tigers head to Ballard on Friday.

Coon Rapids Bayard was up 10-points late in the 3rd quarter, but turnovers led to a 12-0 run by the Spartans, giving them a lead they wouldn’t relinquish the rest of the game. The Crusaders had another chance with a minute remaining, making a steal, that led to a fastbreak. They turned it over with a chance to take the lead back. Exira-EHK responded and stretched the lead over the final minute. The loss is the first of the season for Coon Rapids Bayard, which hosts Exira-EHK on January 23rd.

Aubrey Hofbauer had 12-points with 5 rebounds, Malia Clayburg had a nifty double-double with 11-points and 12 rebounds along with 5 assists and 5 steals. Breeley Clayburg added 9-points with 8 rebounds. Anna Hart finished with 8-points with 5 steals.

The Crusaders sit at 5-1 overall and 5-1 in the Rolling Valley Conference. They host 12th ranked Woodbine on Tuesday.

Glidden Ralston had success going over the top of the Woodbine press early but the Tigers used a pair of early spurts off Wildcats turnovers built a 20-3 lead. The Wildcats didn’t back away, getting into their halfcourt set, allowing them to get some buckets. Kassidy Wenck scored inside and Tiela Janssen hit back-to-back 3’s and the Wildcats pulled within 20-11 late in the quarter. They trailed 25-14 going into the 2nd quarter. Things turned in the Tigers favor completely in the 2nd quarter. They opened the 2nd on a 21-2 run to blow the game open, leading by 32-points at the end of the half. Woodbine dropped into a half-court trap in the 3rd, pushing the game into continuous clock. Glidden Ralston fought until the end of the game, outscoring the Tigers 10-1 in the 4th quarter.

Tiela Janssen paced the Wildcats with 12-points and 5 rebounds with Kassidy Wenkc adding 9-points with 2 steals. Brileigh Bock had 6-points and 5 rebounds. BreAnn Hartwigsen added 5 rebounds and Jaelyn Subbert finished with 5-points.

The loss drops to 3-3 overall and 2-2 in the Rolling Valley Conference. They travel to Boyer Valley on Friday.

It was a rough night shooting the ball for the Raiders, hitting only 10.8% from the field, scoring 15-points in a home loss to Pocahontas Area. East Sac scored 3 or less points in each of the first-three quarters, putting 7-points on the board in the 4th quarter. The defense played pretty well, holding the Indians in check most of the game. They had a big 2nd quarter, outscoring the Raiders 25-3.

Sarah Bontrager led the Raiders with 7-points while Addisen Ehler had 6-points with 10 rebounds. Kendall Quirk had 6 rebounds.

The Raiders have dropped two straight, falling to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the Twin Lakes Conference. They host GTRA on Friday.

IKM-Manning struggled offensively, falling at home to ACGC, slipping to 0-7 on the season. The Wolves scored 5-points in the 1st half, trailing 13-5 at the halftime. The defense played well, keeping them in striking distance, holding the Chargers to 1-point in the 2nd quarter. Both offenses performed better in the 3rd with the Chargers extended their lead to 32-18.

Anna Stangl paced the Wolves with 13-points and Emma Reginato added 5-points.

The Wolves head to Treynor on Friday.
