Carroll hung with Storm Lake into the 4th quarter but a 8-0 run by Storm Lake after Carroll had pulled within 43-39 put the Tigers in a hole they didn’t recover from. Storm Lake maintained a 10-13-piont lead over the final few minutes with Maddy Raveling hitting 9-11 free throws in the 2nd half and most of those down the stretch. The game featured seven lead changes and four ties with the last lead change midway through the 3rd quarter. Carroll hit 7-18 from 3 and made 7-11 free throws but 29 turnovers limited their chances to score.
Avery DeHann hit a pair of 3’s to start the game but Carroll quickly responded with a 3 from Ali Kock and a bucket inside from Olivia Rowedder. The Tornadoes went back up 11-5 but Ali Kock and Katelyn Aden (3) scoring for Carroll to pull within 11-10 early in the 2nd quarter. Aden made another 3, putting Carroll up for the first time at 15-14. Chloe Kock extended their lead to 17-14 but Storm Lake responded, going on a 8-0 run to lead 22-17 before Katelyn Aden scored again to cut it to 22-19. Carly Menken drained a free throw late in the half to tie the game at 22. Storm Lake hit 6-3’s in the 1st half with 4 from Avery DeHann helping them cling to a 23-22 lead.
Olivia Rowedder scored to start the 2nd half and Carroll went up 24-23. Storm Lake and Carroll traded the over the next three baskets with Bailey Schulte putting them up 27-25 with a 3 and 28-27 with a free throw. Storm Lake took control with a 11-0 run and led 40-36 at the end of the 3rd with Carroll closing the quarter on a 3 from Schulte and five straight points from Chloe Kock. Katelyn Aden pulled Carroll within 4 at 43-39 early in the 4th quarter but Storm Lake put the game away with a 8-0 run.
Katelyn Aden paced the Tigers with 13-points and 7 assists. Chloe Kock added 11-points and 5 steals. Ali Kock finished with 8-points, Olivia Rowedder had 8 rebounds and Baylie Schultes finished with 7-points.
The loss is the 3rd straight for Carroll as they get ready to head to Winterset on Tuesday.

IKM-Manning was down by 2 at half, having battled very hard through the 1st half. A tough 3rd quarter, scoring 3-points but them in a hole they tried to battle back from but came up short, falling by 17 in a game played in Audubon. The Wolves shot 38.7% from the field, going 3-8 from the 3-point line. The defense had 13 steals, helping to create 25 turnovers but IKM-Manning turned it over 31 times themselves. The Wolves trailed 14-13 at the end of the 1st quarter and were down 23-21 at half. The game changed in the 3rd quarter when Exira-EHK outscored the Wolves 16-3.
Anna Stangl led the Wolves with 17-points and 7 rebounds. She added 3 steals. Taylor Beckendorf finished with 8-points and McKenna Benton added 6-points. Oriah Meiners had 3 steals.
The Wolves fall to 0-6 on the season. They will host AC/GC on Tuesday.
