Kuemper At Humboldt Joe Fitch Invitational
Kuemper had a strong showing with 11 wrestlers on Friday night, finishing 22-19 in matches wrestled, helping them take 5th place out of eight teams. The Knights scored 163-points, just behind conference foe Atlantic, which scored 172.5-points, finishing in 4th place. Humboldt won the team title with 247.5-points. The Knights had five wrestlers place in the top three. The team had 15 wins by fall to go with 5 wins by decision and one each of sudden victory and medical forfeit.
Jake Irlbeck won the Knights championship, going 3-0 in matches wrestled at 157-pounds. Irlbeck won a match by fall and two by decision, including the 1st place match. Owen Nepple was 2nd at 126-pounds with a 3-1 mark with all three of his wins by fall. Bryce Wiskus added another 2nd place finish for Kuemper at 215-pounds. Wiskus had a pair of wins by fall and a medical forfeit, finishing 3-1 overall. Tate Bieret picked up 3 wins, going 3-1 to finish 3rd at 175-pounds. He won all three of his matches by fall. Caleb Hoffman added a second 3rd place finish for Kuemper. He went 2-1 at 120-pounds with both wins by fall.
