Carroll At Ames Quad
Carroll opened their season at a strong quad in Ames with Cedar Falls, Perry and the host Cyclones of Ames High. Carroll finished their night 1-2 in duals, beating Perry 45-21 and falling to Ames 54-24 and Cedar Falls 70-9. Several Tigers had strong starts to their seasons as Carroll went 14-19 in matches overall and 8-19 in matches wrestled. Carroll had six wins by fall with five of them coming in the 1st period. They added a pair of wins by decision. Carroll went 3-7 in matches wrestled against Ames, 2-9 against Cedar Falls and 3-3 in the match with Perry.
Emma Grossman was one of the Tigers with a pair of wins, going 2-1, earning a win by decision, Julia Kanne added a pair of wins with a win by fall and a win by decision, going 2-1. Brianna Kiger may have had the strongest night for Carroll with both her wins coming by fall, finishing 2-1 overall. Averi Burke and Kloee Jones both started the season 2-1 overall with both having a win by fall and Alexis Esquivel was 2-1 with both wins by forfeit. Sunny McGowen went 1-2 with her win by fall.

Kuemper At Ridge View Duals
Kuemper had five wrestlers at the dual tournament in Ridge View on Tuesday as they opened the season against Algona, Sergeant Bluff-Luton and Spencer. The Knights dropped all three duals, giving up a lot of points via forfeit. They ended the evening 4-10 in matches wrestled with all four wins coming by fall. Kuemper dropped their match against Algona 66-12, going 2-3 in matches wrestled. They fell to Spencer 66-6 with a 1-4 record in matches wrestled and fell 66-12 to Sergeant Bluff-Luton, going 1-3 in matches wrestled.
Kyra Wolterman had a strong start to her season, going 2-1 with both her wins by fall. Kyla Wiskus and Ally Sommerfeld both went 1-2 with each of their wins coming ball fall. Grace Hoffman ended her night 1-2 with her win by forfeit.
