The Glidden-Ralston Wildcats impressive season comes to an end following a loss on the road to open the 8-Man playoffs. The game was tied 8-8 late in the first quarter before Exira-EHK took a 14-8 lead to end the first quarter. The Spartans would add another touchdown to close out the second quarter and take a 22-8 lead at the half. Glidden-Ralston struggled with turnovers and was also turned it over on downs twice in the half. Both defenses played great in the third quarter as Exira-EHK held on to a 22-8 lead going to the fourth quarter. Early in the fourth quarter, Colby Wallace scored his second rushing touchdown of the game on a nine-yard score. The touchdown cut the lead to 22-16 in favor of Exira-EHK. On the Spartan’s next drive, they extended their lead to 30-16 on a ten-yard touchdown pass. Neither team scored the rest of the game, and the Spartans would come away with a 30-16 win over Glidden-Ralston.

Colby Wallace continued his incredible season running the football as he was the Wildcats leading rusher. Wallace recorded 168 yards and scored two touchdowns on 26 carries. Emmett Snyder was the team’s leading receiver, as he recorded four catches for 92 yards. Alex Daniel led the Wildcats in tackles with nine. Snyder also recorded 8.5 tackles for Glidden-Ralston. With the loss, the Wildcats season comes to an end at 6-3. The Wildcats will have a lot of their production return next season.
