South Central Calhoun fell to third in the district, dropping their third game in the final five contests to finish 5-3 overall and 4-2 in Class A District 7. Earlham was able to establish the run game, rushing for 488-yards on 50 carries to average 9.8-yards per carry. The Titans ran for 77-yards and passed for 131-yards but didn’t score in the 2nd half while Earlham broke the game open with 24-points in the 3rd quarter.

The Titans took the early lead when Gavin Batta snuck in from 2-yards out to put the Titans up 7-0 with 8:44 left in the 1st quarter. Earlham quickly answered with a 20-yard touchdown run, pulling within 7-6. The Cardinals added another score before the end of the 1st quarter, getting a 6-yard touchdown run to lead 14-7 going into the 2nd quarter. They stretched the lead to 21-7 in the 2nd quarter but South Central Calhoun pulled within 21-14 when Gavin Batta hit Keegan Soard for a 19-yard touchdown with 2:02 left in the half. The Titans weren’t able to make a stop before half and Earlham added a touchdown with 0:28 left in the half, taking a 28-14 lead into halftime. The 3rd quarter belonged to Earlham, scoring three touchdowns and getting three two-point conversions. They lead 52-14 heading into the 4th quarter.

Gavin Batta finished the night with 131-yards passing with a touchdown and an interception, Keegan Soard made 6 catches for 70-yards and a touchdown.

The Titans head to LoMa for a 1st round playoff game on Friday.
