Kuemper wrapped up the regular season with their 31st win of the season, picking up a impressive sweep at Sergeant Bluff-Luton, winning sets one and two in convincing fashion. Then holding off a gutty effort by the Warriors in set three as they didn’t want to get swept at home. The Knights defense was sound at the net, giving Sergeant Bluff-Luton issues, helping their back row settle in and feed Elsa Tiefenthaler and Karsyn Overmohle with nice passes. They combined for 30 assists, helping the Knights finish with 31 kills with five players picking up at last 3 kills. The Knights earned a win in set one, then dominated the second set, winning 25-12.
Aubrey Heuton led the Knights on the night with 9 kills, followed by from Kaci Peter, 6 from Lauren Boell and 5 from Frannie Glynn. Elsa Tiefenthaler had 16 assists to go with 8 digs and 2 aces while Karsyn Overmohle had 14 assists. Frannie Glynn and Kaci Peter both had 4 blocks with Alivia Schenkelberg, Aubrey Heuton and Brianna Wittrock each having 2 blocks. Wittrock added 9 digs and 3 aces. Kaylie Simons paced the back row with 18 digs.
Kuemper sits 31-6 as they head into Regional play next Wednesday against the winner of Lawton Bronson and MVAOCOU. They play Monday night.

South Central Calhoun battled and came up with a hard fought four set win on Thursday, finishing the night with 57 kills. They had three players finish in double digits along with three other players with five or more on a balanced night at the net. The Titans took the first-two sets before Sioux Central battled to take set three. The Titans did a nice job regaining command of the match in the fourth set, holding on for a 25-22 win.
Jayci Graeve paced the balanced attack at the net with a team high 17 kills to go with a strong night at the net defensively with 2 blocks. Brenna McAlister and Mollie Monahan each had 10 kills with McAlister adding 4 aces, with a strong night at the service line. Monahan continues to give teams fits at the net on defense with a pair of blocks. Mia Babcock and Hayden Berquist both had 6 kills with Berquist adding 3 blocks and Babcock 2 blocks. Norah Riedesel shared the ball very well with her hitters, finishing with 35 assists to go with 5 kills. Alexa Holm had a team high 10 digs, along with 2 aces.

South Central Calhoun felt like they let a match slip away on Thursday after getting up by a set to open the match, then taking a 6-1 lead in set two. The Mustangs battled back in set two as it went back and forth until Newell Fonda took the momentum and won the set 27-25. They rode that momentum to take the third set 25-16 and a two sets to one lead. The Titans fell down in set four, trailing 14-6 but battled back and nearly won the set but came up just short, losing 26-24.
Brenna McAlister led the Titans with 19 kills, along with 10 digs. Jayci Graeve added 15 kills and 14 digs while Mollie Monahan had 14 kills. Mia Babcock finished with 9 kills, along with 3 blocks. Norah Riedesel finished her night with 44 assists and Alexa Holm added 20 digs.
The 1-1 night moved the Titans to 25-12. They head to the Winterset Tournament on Saturday to wrap up the regular season.

The East Sac County Raiders had an off night as they fell at home on senior night to Alta-Aurelia. The first two sets were back and forth. In the first set, ESC let one slip away as the Raiders held a 14-5 lead but fell 25-22. ESC made adjustments in the second set and came out with a 25-20 win in another close set. With the win, it tied the match up at 1-1. Alta-Aurelia kept the Raiders all night and would pull away in the last two sets. In the third set, it was back and forth, but Alta-Aurelia would win another set with a 25-19 victory. The third set was the most lopsided of the night, with Alta-Aurelia picking up a 25-16 victory and beating ESC 3-1.
Kate Vondrak led the Raiders in kills with ten. Vondrak, who has played all over the court this year for ESC, also led the team in assists with 19. Kenna Meyer and Kamry Ross each recorded nine kills Thursday. Sidney Bieret and Jordin Carroll were second on the team in assists, recording nine each. Defensively at the nets, ESC recorded five blocks as a team. Vondrak and Ross each recorded two blocks. With the loss, ESC falls to 22-7 and 10-1 in conference play. The Raiders are back in action on Wednesday against West Monona in the Class 2A Region 2 Quarterfinals.

The Audubon Wheelers fell in the third-place match in the Western Iowa Conference Volleyball Tournament to Tri-Center Thursday night. The Wheelers struggled against a good Tri-Center team. The closest set was the second set. In the first set, Tri-Center came out aggressive and jumped out to a 25-16 victory over Audubon. The Wheelers made some adjustments in the second set but lost a back-and-forth second set 25-19. With the loss, the Wheelers fell down to Tri-Center 2-0. In the third set, the Wheelers fell early and didn’t recover as they lost 25-17 and 3-0 to Tri-Center Thursday night.
Mattie Nielsen was fantastic again for the Wheelers as she recorded a team-high 15 kills. Addie Hocker led Audubon in assists with 20. Sophomore Harlow Miller was second on the team in kills with six. Audubon recorded six blocks as a team, led by Kadence Brannan-Sporrer and Miller, who had two each. Hocker also led the team in aces with two. The Wheelers on the night had a total of six aces as a team.

IKM-Manning struggled to find their groove in a two set loss to the Big Red. The Wolves hit .019 with 10 kills, making 9 errors. Addisyn Bandow was the only player with more than 1 kill. Missouri Valley hit .196 with 22 kills. IKM-Manning wasn’t able to get Missouri Valley off balance with their serve as they won 21-14, 21-10.
Addisyn Bandow ended the night with 5 kills with Ella Richards having a team leading 5 assists. Anna Stangl had a team high 12 digs with Grace Carroll adding 7 digs and a pair of blocks. Megan Williams had a team high 3 blocks.

Megan Williams paced the Wolves with 6 kills while Grace Carroll, Addisyn Bandow and Karlee Arp all had 2 kills. Ella Richards had a team high 6 assists with Arp adding 5 assists. Anna Stangl again led the back row with 9 digs with Grace Carroll and Eryn Ramsey both having 6 digs.
The Wolves fell to 4-21 on the season. They open Regional play Monday At Glidden Ralston on 93.7 KKRL.

Paton-Churdan lost to Eagle Grove at home Thursday night. The first set was all Eagle-Grove as they came out with a 25-12 win. Paton-Churdan adjusted the second set as it was back and forth, but the Rockets would fall to Eagle Grove 25-20. The third set was much like the first and was all Eagle Grove, as they won 25-10 over Paton-Churdan. With the loss, the Rockets fell to 0-11. Paton-Churdan rounds out the regular season Saturday in Coon Rapids at the Rolling Valley Conference Tournament.
