Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Kuemper Cruises on the Road Friday

For a second straight week, the Kuemper Knights dominated their opponents, getting the game into continuous clock in the 1st half. The Knights clinch the district title with the 56-14 win, racking up 244-yards rushing and 4 touchdowns along with 191-yards passing and 4 more touchdowns. They garnered 435-yards total offense while holding Saydel to 117-yards of total offense with most of that coming in the 2nd half with reserves in the game.

Brock Badding hit Michael Kasperbauer for a 34-yard touchdown with 8:49 left in the 1st quarter and the Knights were off and running. They added a 55-yard touchdown from Badding to DJ Vonnahme and a 3-yard touchdown run by Will Simons in the 1st quarter and led 20-0, heading into the 2nd quarter. Simons started the scoring in the 2nd quarter with a 21-yard run, followed by a Kaesin Pierce touchdown run, set up by a Ben Gerken interception. The Knights led 35-0 with 8:39 left in the 1st half. Jake Hausman added a 46-yard touchdown catch and Michael Kasperbauer had his second touchdown catch of the half with a 29-yard catch to end the half. The Knights were up 49-0 at half.

Saydel scored their first touchdown on a 21-yard pass in the 3rd quarter. Kuemper answered just before the end of the quarter with a 11-yard touchdown run by Jake Hoffman, putting them up 56-7 going into the  4th quarter. Saydel scored the final points with 6:37 remaining in the game.

Brock Badding went 8-13 for 191-yards with 4 passing touchdowns for the Knights. Michael Kasperbauer had 2 of the touchdown catches as part of a 4 catch night for 84-yards. DJ Vonnahme added 2 catches for 57-yards and a touchdown while Jake Hausman had a catch for 46-yards and a touchdown. Hausman added 43-yard rushing on 3 carries while Will Simons had 2 rushing touchdowns and 30-yards on the ground. Mason Reicks returned an interception for 50-yards.

The Knights improved to 5-2 overall and 4-0 in the district, claiming the district crown. They host SE Valley on KCIM on Friday.
