Glidden Ralston ate up a lot of clock, establishing their running game, taking their first drive down the field for a touchdown. The Wildcats picked up a pair of 4th down conversions on the drive, helped by a pair of penalties on the Crusaders, helping to make it 4th and manageable. The Crusaders had a chance to score late in the 1st quarter but were stopped and trailed 6-0 after the 1st quarter. The Wildcats scored again in the 2nd quarter, again utilizing their ground game with Colby Wallace and Emmett Snyder with Wallace scoring his second rushing touchdown. They led 12-0 at half.
Glidden Ralston extended the lead in the 3rd quarter with a touchdown, making it 18-0 heading into the 4th. Both teams found paydirt in the 4th, but the Crusaders scored late and weren’t able to recover the onside kick.
Colby Wallace carried the ball 31 times for 148-yards, scoring 3 times with Emmett Snyder rushing for 84-yards on 21 carries for Glidden Ralston. Snyder added a rushing touchdown.
The Crusaders struggled on offense with Caden Oswald leading them with 24-yards rushing on 7 carries and Wyatt Oswald carrying it 12 times for 20-yards. Wyatt Oswald was 8-15 passing for 72-yards. Wyatt Oswald added 9 tackles with Tyler Mohr having 8.5 tackles.
The win improves Glidden Ralston to 5-2 overall and 4-1 in the district, clinching them the second seed in the district. Coon Rapids Bayard falls to 2-5 overall and 2-3 in the district. Glidden Ralston travels to St Edmond on Friday while the Crusaders host Colo-Nesco. The Crusaders need a win and have Audubon defeat Baxter and St Edmond to beat Glidden Ralston to make the playoffs. Baxter currently holds the head-to-head tiebreaker over Coon Rapids Bayard.
