The Ar-We-Va Rockets lost at home to Boye Valley, who is one of the better teams in the Rolling Valley Conference. Makayla Schrad led the Rockets in kills with three. Trista Reis, Morgan Berg, and Annalee Wittrock all recorded two kills for Ar-We-Va. Amber Ragaller led the team in assists with 10. Delaney Schurke led the team in digs with 16.
With the loss, Ar-We-Va drops to 1-14 and 1-5 in the Rolling Valley. The Rockets are back in action on Thursday at Exira-EHK.

The Audubon Wheelers struggled on the road in two of the three sets against a good Treynor team. The Wheelers dropped the first set 25-10 to Treynor. They fell down early and never recovered. The second set was also all Treynor, as they beat Audubon 25-8. The third set was the best of the night as the Wheelers made adjustments and pushed Treynor to extra time but eventually fell 26-24.
The Wheelers struggled at the nets. Mattie Nielsen led Audubon in kills with 14. The next closest was Harlo Miller, with three kills. Addie Hocker led the Wheelers in assists with 16. Hocker was also tied for the team lead in blocks with one. Harlow Miller recorded the other block. Audubon recorded ten aces as a team, with Mattie Nielsen recording four of them.

Carroll vs Boone

The Carroll Tigers dropped three straight sets against Boone at home Tuesday night. Boone took advantage of the holes in the Carroll lineup. The first set was the closest and was back and forth. The set needed extra time, as Boone would come away with a 26-24 win. Boone made more adjustments in the second set and pulled away from Carroll despite the close 25-18 set two win. The third set was the largest of the match as the Tigers would drop the set 25-15 to Boone. With the 3-0 loss, the Tigers fall into a tie for last place in the Raccoon River Conference.
Riley Nagl was excellent at distributing the volleyball to her teammates as she dished out 23 assists. Olivia Rowedder led the Tigers in kills as she recorded nine. Amanda Wardell continued her great second half of the season for Carroll, recording six kills. Mollie Feld and Emma Kuhlmann had five kills for the Tigers. Carroll only recorded two blocks at the net, with Rowedder and Kuhlmann each having one.

It was all Coon Rapids-Bayard in a matchup of two Rolling Valley Conference teams as the Crusaders beat Paton-Churdan 3-0. The Crusaders jumped out early in all three sets and never looked back. CRB won the first set 25-12, which was the closest of the night. The second and third set were all Crusaders, winning 25-9 in both.
Malia Clayburg had one of her best nights of the season, leading the Crusaders in kills with 18. Lydia Hofbauer and Ashtyn Klocke each recorded five kills for CRB. Aubrey Hofbauer led the Crusaders in assists as she recorded 14. Ella Heithoff was just a little behind Hofbauer as she recorded eight assists. CRB was fantastic from the serving line as they recorded 14 aces as a team. Heithoff led the team with five aces. Paton-Churdan was led in kills by Grace Cullum and Maggie Reed as they both recorded two kills. Ella Tasler led the Rockets in aces with three.
The win improves the Crusader’s record to 8-12 and 3-2 in Rolling Valley Conference action. Paton-Churdan falls to 0-7 and 0-5 in conference play with the loss. CRB is back in action on Thursday against Woodbine. The Rockets will be back at home on Thursday against Glidden-Ralston on 93.7 KKRL.

The East Sac County Raiders continue their excellent season as they pick up a Twin Lakes Conference win over Southeast Valley Tuesday night. Three of the four sets were close. ESC won set number one by five, 25-20. After picking up a set one win, the Raiders looked like they were on cruise control as they rolled to a 25-14 win in set two. SE Valley made adjustments in the third set and walked away with a close 25-23 win to cut into the ESC lead 2-1. The fourth set needed extra time as it was back and forth, but ESC walked away with a 26-24 win and a 3-1 victory over SE Valley.
Addisen Ehler led the Raiders with 15 kills. Kenna Meyer was second on the team with 11 kills. Kate Vondrak has been active all over the court all season for ESC. She led the team in assists with 22 and also in blocks with three. Sidney Bieret was second on the team in assists with 14. Bieret also led the team in aces with two. As a team, ESC totaled six aces. With the win, the Raiders improved their record to 20-6 and a perfect 8-0 in the Twin Lakes Conference. The Raiders are back in action Thursday on the road at Sioux Central.

The Glidden-Ralston Wildcats improved their record in conference play with a win at home over Exira-EHK 3-1. The Wildcats won the first set 25-19. In the second set, Exira-EHK made adjustments from mistakes made in the first set to pick up a 25-18 win over Glidden-Ralston. The second set was the most lopsided of the night. The third set was back and forth as the Wildcats adjusted to pick up a 25-20 win and take a 2-1 lead over Exira-EHK. The fourth set was the best of the night as Glidden-Ralston won a back-and-forth set that needed extra time. The Wildcats went on to win 26-24 and 3-1 over Exira-EHK.
Addy Boell distributed the volleyball excellently for Glidden-Ralston as four girls recorded seven-plus kills. Boell also led the team in assists with 32. Ashlynn Tigges led the Wildcats in kills with nine. Kassidy Wenck, Lauren Hulsing, and Summer Toms all totaled seven kills for Glidden-Ralston. Lauren Klocke came in leading the Wildcats in aces and extended that as she led the team with five. Glidden-Ralston recorded two blocks at the nets, with Wenck and Hulsing each having one. Tiela Janson led the team in digs with 25. However, Tigges was just a little behind with 23 digs.

Kuemper At Glenwood

Kuemper suffered their first conference loss of the season, falling in five sets at Glenwood. The Knights were in control of set one, up 17-10 and led most of set five, falling in both those sets. Glenwood used a 15-4 run to close out the first set, then rallied from down 3-0 and 10-6 in set five. The Knights played well but weren’t consistent in their attack and Glenwood was able to set up a block, creating issues for Kuemper hitters during their run in set one and in wins in sets four and five. The Knights struggled at times in serve receive, forcing their setters to have to set from behind the 10-foot line frequently. They made really good adjustments throughout the match, taking away Zoie Carda in sets three and four after she had 11 kills through the first-two sets. Glenwood’s depth at the net was critical in their rally with Charley Hernandez, Danika Arnold and Iisa Kemling coming up big in the final two sets. Kuemper had several big plays in the match with Alivia Schenkelberg and Frannie Glynn teaming up for several big blocks, Lauren Boell had a nice run of kills in set 3, giving Kuemper a commanding lead. Elsa Tiefenthaler and Frannie Glynn both had good service runs in set one, helping them get up 17-10. Kaci Peter had back-to-back kills in set five, putting Kuemper up 15-14.
Elsa Tiefenthaler had an early service run and Frannie Glynn got going at the net as the Knights went up 7-3 in set one. The set featured five ties and three lead changes with Kuemper going up 4-3 and building a 17-10 lead with kills frm Lauren Boell and Kaci Peter making it 9-5. Boell added an ace, extending the lead to 14-8. Aubrey Heuton had a kill, followed by an ace, making it 17-10. Glenwood responded with a big block and Zoei Carda getting hot hitting line and Glenwood closed out the set with a 15-4 run, taking the lead at 22-21 after tying it at 20 and 21.
The second set featured nine ties and four lead changes with Kuemper taking the lead for good at 9-8 after Karsyn Overmohle had an ace serve to tie it at 8. Elta Tiefenthaler started the Kuemper run with a kill, snapping a 3-0 run by Glenwood. Kaci Peter had a pair of kills late, making it 20-12 and the Knights rolled with Karsyn Overmohle serving an ace to end it at 25-16.
Kuemper never trailed and didn’t allow Glenwood to tie set three after the Knights went up 3-0 to start. The Rams pulled within 4-3 but Elsa Tiefenthaler had an ace and Lauren Boell had four kills over the next 10-points, helping Kuemper lead 13-8. Kaylie Simons served an ace and Aubrey Heuton had a kill, extending the lead to 15-8. The Knights appeared to be in control up 19-112 but Glenwood gained confidence, cutting the lead to 20-17. Kaci Peter returned the momentum to Kuemper with a kill and the Knights held on for a 25-21 win.
Kuemper again went up 3-0 in set four with an ace from Brianna Wittrock and a kill from Aubrey Heuton. This time they couldn’t hold off the Ram rally and Glenwood took a 5-4 lead. The Knight rallied after falling down 9-6 with a pair of kills from Brianna Wittrock and a Kaci Peter ace put them ahead 10-9. Glenwood responded, taking the lead back at 12-11. The Rams never trailed again though Kuemper tied it at 19 and had the serve for the lead. Glenwood outscored the Knights 6-3 down the stretch, winning 25-22 and sending the match to a fifth set.
Aubrey Heuton opened set five with a kill and Frannie Flynn put the Knights up 3-0. Kaci Peter extended it to 5-2 and Brianna Wittrock added a big block, making it 8-4. The Knights went up 9-4, then held a 10-6 lead after a kill from Wittrock. Glenwood chipped away, tying the set at 11. Aubrey Heuton kept the Knights in the lead with a kill, making it 12-11 but the Rams scored the next two points to lead 13-12. Kaci Peter responded with a pair of kills, gaining match point but a kill for the match sailed just long, tying the set at 14. The Rams scored the final two points to win the match.
Kaci Peter had a strong night at the net with 16 kills to lead a strong attack. Aubrey Heuton added 11 kills, Frannie Glynn had 9 kills and Lauren Boell and Brianna Wittrock both had 8 kills. Elsa Tiefenthaler had a team high 27 assists with Karsyn Overmohle adding 26 assists. Kaylie Simons was strong in the back row with 33 digs while Brianna Wittrock added 14 digs. Frannie Glynn led the Knights defense at the net with 6 blocks while Brianna Wittrock added 5 blocks and Alivia Schenkelberg had 4 blocks. Wittrock, Frannie Glynn and Karsyn Overmohle all had 2 aces.
The loss drops Kuemper to 29-5 overall and 7-1 in the Hawkeye 10 Conference. Glenwood improves to 5-1 in the lead and 17-9 overall. Kuemper travels to Lewis Central on Thursday with a chance to tie for first place in the league.
