Volleyball Results Saturday, September 23rd
Carroll faced several ranked teams on Saturday in Nevada, falling in all four of their matches on the day. The Tigers went 1-8 in sets played, picking up a win over West Marshall. Carroll beat Trojans 21-18 in the first set, before falling in a tight second set 21-19. Carr0ll was not able to keep up the momentum and fell in set three 15-6. The Tigers also played well in a two set loss to Raccoon River Conference foe Bondurant Farrar, falling 21-16 in both sets. Carroll battled hard in the opening set against 11th ranked Wapsie Valley, losing 21-17. Carroll struggled against 7th ranked Norwalk, losing 21-5 and 21-3.
Riley Nagl had 29 assists for the Tigers on Saturday, with Olivia Rowedder leading the way at the net with 15 kills and Amanda Wardell with 10 kills. Marasyn Wittrock had a team high 34 digs with Riley Nagl finishing with 26 digs and Averi Burke with 24 digs. Emma Kuhlmann led the Tigers with 5 blocks with Olivia Rowedder with 4 blocks. Averi Burke had a team high 4 aces and Amanda Wardell with 3 aces.
The Tigers are 4-19 and will host Boone on Tuesday.
