The Rockets couldn’t recover from a slow start on Friday, suffering their first loss of the season. Woodbine jumped out 14-0 in the 1st quarter and scored in all four quarters. Ar-We-Va struggled to begin each half, getting shutout in the 1st and 3rd quarters. Woodbine hurt the Rockets through the air, throwing for 384 yards and seven touchdowns. Ar-We-Va was forced into four turnovers while turning Woodbine over once, which Wade Ragaller returned 45-yards for a touchdown. Ar-We-Va finished the game with 115-yards passing and 119-yards rushing.

Woodbine struck for a pair of touchdown passes in the 1st quarter with Brodyn Pryor hitting Landon Blum for a 44-yard touchdown with 8:08 left in the quarter, then throwing a 15-yard touchdown later in the quarter. They extended the lead to 34-0 in the 2nd quarter with three more touchdown passes, the second a 37-yard pass to Micah Moore. Ar-We-Va was able to stop the 2-point conversion of three of their five touchdowns in the 1st half, keeping the game at 34-0 with 6:30 left in the half. Blayne Smith got the Rockets on the board on a 25-yard touchdown to Johnathan Riesselman with 4:30 left in the quarter. Wade Ragaller cut it to 34-12 with a 45-yard interception returned for a touchdown with 0:23 left.

The Tigers pushed the lead 48-12 with a pair of 2-yard touchdown passes in the 3rd. Wyatt Ragaller stopped the scoring drought in the 4th quarter, scoring on a 2-yard run for the Rockets with 8:04 left in the game. Ar-We-Va got a late touchdown when Johnathan Riesselman hit Devon Ehlers with 0:08 left in the game.

Johnathan Riesselman went 7-10 through the air for 92-yards and a touchdown. He also caught a 25-yard touchdown pass. Blayne Smith was 4-8 for 23-yards with a touchdown and a pair of interceptions. Wade Ragaller had 8 carries for 49-yards adding 8 tackles and an interception returned for 45-yard and a touchdown. Devon Ehlers had 2 catches for 29-yards and a touchdown.

Ar-We-Va falls to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in the district. They head to Remsen, St Mary’s on Friday.
