Paton Churdan had leads in sets one and two and kept rallying every time Colo-Nesco looked to pull away. The Rockets led a good portion of the second set, falling behind midway through. A late Royals rally in set two helped them get the momentum early in set three as they jumped out to a big lead on their way to the sweep.
Mia Russell got the kill of the match, giving the Rockets a 1-0 lead in the opening set. Colo-Nesco quickly grabbed a 2-1 lead, extending it to 4-1. The Rockets hung tight, pulling within 10-5 before the Royals built a 15-6 lead. Ella Tasler stopped the run with a kill and Madison Roper went on a service run, pulling the Rockets within 15-10. Roper had an ace, but did a nice job getting the Royals out-of-system. Kaliyah Minnehan kept the Rockets close with a kill as Paton Churdan pulled within 17-13. A 3-0 Royals run gave them control and the Rockets weren’t able to get closer than four the rest of the set.
Paton Churdan went up 1-0 in set two as the set went back and forth, tying at 2 and 4 and changing leads twice within the first-nine sports scored. Paton Churdan went up 5-4, extending it with an ace serve from Kaliyah Minnehan and a kill from Mia Russell. Maggie Reed picked up a kill, keeping the Rockets in front, 11-8. The Royals went on a 3-0 run, tying the set at 11, then at 12, before taking the lead back for good at 13-12. Ella Tasler had a kill, pulling the Rockets within 14-13 and Mia Russell had back-to-back kills, pulling the Rockets within 18-17. A second 3-0 run by Colo-Nesco put them in control and they outscored Paton Churdan down the stretch 7-1 to win 25-18.
The Rockets fell behind 3-0 and 6-1 in set three, cutting it to 6-3 before Colo-Nesco pulled away for a 25-11 win.
Mia Russell led the Rockets with 5 kills and Grace Cullum added 7 assists and 4 digs, tying for the team lead with Russell. Ella Tasler added a pair of kills.
The Rockets are 0-3 and will travel to Exira-EHK on Tuesday, then host Ar-We-Va on 93.7 KKRL on Thursday.

Glidden Ralston, Baxter and Collins Maxwell At Madrid- Quad
Glidden Ralston moved to 6-0 on the season with a sweep of all three matches on Monday. They rolled to all three wins, not dropping a set and only giving up double digits in one set. They held Baxter to 12 points total, Collins Maxwell had 15 points and Madrid, who gave the Wildcats their toughest match, scored 20 points total. The Wildcats are now 2-0 against both Madrid and Collins Maxwell this season, having beaten them at home earlier this season. Glidden Ralston finished with 41 kills in the three matches combined, nearly matching the total points scored by their opponents. They served 11 aces in the win over Collins Maxwell, 6 against Baxter and 6 in the win over Madrid. The back row wasn’t pushed most of the night as the Wildcats ended night with 13 digs.
Addy Boell finished the night with 27 assists, 5 kills and 6 aces. Ashlynn Tigges added a team high 17 kills, leading the team in all three matches. Kassidy Wenck added 7 kills while Lauren Klocke finished with 8 aces. Summer Toms added 5 kills.
The Wildcats will face a good test on Tuesday when they host 8-5 CAM Anita.
